VW Passat non working windscreen wipers

VW Passat non working windscreen wipers

Hello. I have an S reg 1.6 petrol VW Passat Estate car, and the front windscreen wipers have just stopped working. The front screen washer still funtions ok, but there is nothing at all happening with the wipers. I clicking noise can be heard from what I presume is a relay under the bonnet, but no movement at all with the wiper arms.

Can anyone offer any help or advise please? Sincere thanks,

hi, at a guess i would say your wiper motor is seized, have you noticed it getting slower, or getting noisier over time, its not worth buying a new one from VW/AUDI they will want silly money, your best bet is the scrap yard

The wiper motor is getting very hot, so have sourced a good second hand one from scrap yard. Thanks for your help,
