want to replace front pads and fuel filter suppliers are telling me there are 2 different types for both of these items my engine no is d16y 3225571 i think its a honda engine but not sure can anyone help my car is in barbados so cant find out anymore details

hi, welcome to the site

i dont know if the auto is differant to the manual version, but honda engined rovers have the gearbox on the drivers side of the car, and rover engined rovers have the gearbox on the passenger side of the car,

Rover used it's partners Honda engine & gearbox for automatics as it did not produce its own in this era. Best thing to do would be to fill in as many details as you can 'on-line' with a parts supplier such as this one:
