hi
we have just come back from holiday in northumberland, I put the heater low in the early hours as it was getting cold. when i got up in the morning the warm air was not working. I could still use the gas fire but not via the carver system. this happened last year and the heater board was replaced and a new fan was installed. can anyone tell me what could be wrong please.

Hi. If you are referring to the electric blow heating. I have experienced the same and found it to be that the fan at the back of the fire (as you look through the grill) gets blocked with dust etc etc causing the elec heater element to trip out due to not enough air getting to the element and resulting in it over heating. simply remove the front of the fire (2 screws at floor level base of fire) clean the circular fan I used an old tooth brush and a vacuum cleaner. Then at the back of the fire there should be a circular shaped casing the full size of the fire, and as you look at the fire from the front put your hand down the LEFT HAND side of this casing and you will feel a little rubber coated reset button press that and it should now work. This info is based on the Carver combined gas/elec blow system fitted to most caravans). Hope this helps, Barry

If your carver fanmaster fan is clogged with dust then the heat exchanger elements are probably also clogged. With this heater at least one of the blown air vents should always be left open. If it has tripped due to overheating you will have, if your lucky, a reset button on the rear. (Early models did not have the reset button)
