change glow plug relay but light goes straight out and wont start any ideas

ime not a citroen mech but there "may" be another relay with a timer built in, the ford focus diesal has 2 relays one that energizes for 6 seconds when the ignition is turned on this then energizes another relay that passes current to the glowplugs after 6 seconds the first relay breaks contact which in turn breakes contact in the second relay worth checking, the time differance would likely be different on the citroen

i ve put a link in from the battery to the relay and light stops on for about 10 sec then starts but it may be draining the battery or burning out the glow plugs

then you need to find out where the power comes from to energize the relay its likely that the ecu triggers a power hold relay that then feeds the glow plug relay, well thats what happens on my ford
