Hi
Does any one know if there is a way of cleaning a particulate filter or know of a garage/workshop that does exchange parts.

Hi , our workshop cleans then in house, but you also have to refill the additive tank (not Cheap) and reset the ECU especially if you have low running mode in already.
I hope this helps the main dealer will only change the item concerned and not clean and refit.

Thanks for the info,
I have had the tank refilled and had the system reset and could you let me know the method that they use to clean the filter.

The process they use is called forced regeneration which is done with the diagnostic machine.You carnt take it off to clean it. Replacement is necessary at certain intervals, If its comming up as blocked then im pretty sure it will need repalcing. I had one recently do the same and tried a regen but it didnt work, so had to fit a new filter

I have only had the blocked warning come up twice but that was due to the tank being empty,had that refilled and i have done over 400miles since,but have not had it regenerated yet,is that a main agent job.

hello, did you get the fault codes read when the additive tank was filled? How many miles has your car done and has the filter been changed b4? Normally when you fill the fuel tank up and open the fuel cap and drive it . it should regen the filter. But in your case you might have to have a forced regen done. Whats done is , getting the engine up to temperature, then the engine will rev at about 4000 revs for a min or so, then run at 3k. Thease are all approx figures.The diagnostic machine controls all this and operates the additive system.

Sorry for delay in ans,
Went on a long drive and the system come on and ran for at least 3 min 2/3 miles twice.then again a few days later for about 1/4 mile.all seems ok.
but i will put it in soon to have codes rechecked,
