Hi, i've a 98 1.6 zetec and the alternator is faulty.
How many bolts hold this in and do i have to remove what i think is the air con pipes to physically get it out?
(room around it seems very limited)
thanx in advance.

Finally got around to tackling alt, was too good to be true!
3 bolts hold alt in, found them after dropping down air con unit, and managed to get a half turn at a time on the back/top two .
Eventually got alt off bracket but cannot physically remove it as there is no aperture big enough.
Have three bolts removed from large alloy bracket which bolts to the front of block but there must be another hiding .
Any input would be gratefully accepted.
Thanx again, ian.
