im haveing trouble removeing the spark plugs from my 2.0 petrol engine my socket wont sit on the plugs properly can i remove the rocker cover without removeing the plugs first

Hi. Yes you can remove the rocker cover with the plugs in place as they are all separate items. You need to get the socket issue sorted though as sometime in the future you're likely to need the plugs out :)

FYI I have a standard Halfords socket and it fits fine (rubs the sides but goes down ok). You'll need an extension bar of course, and try to get one that grips the socket well (little spring loaded ball locates in a corresponding hole in the socket) as you don't want the socket to keep falling off down the tube. Alternatively you could try one of those long box-spanners.
