I was rear ended in sep. The other car driver didnt or wouldnt leave me his details at all he had phoned is dad up after the accident and he i think told him not too. He said he would phone back on monday when he got back too where he lived. It was only a run around but it was vital for us. I know his insurance company, his name as well the car was insured at the time as well. I sustained a torn muscle in my side as well. My insurance has given him 100% blame but they still are dragging there heals. I know i will lose my excess but my policy has been cancel or suspended and because i only had the car 33 days its almost the full lot so if it is it will wipe the value of the car out. Is there anything else i can do. I just need transport or something sorting out as it making me physically ill.

firstly it is illegal not to give insurance details after an accident if your unhappy about the way your insurance is dealing with it then there are numorous firms of accident claims that will handle it for you just make sure it wont cost you anything i was given a leaflet form a local repair centre just a week ago and they say these people are very good i have no connection with them at all have a look at http://www.accidentshappen.co.uk

hi he was probaly driving on his fathers insurance, ant they dont want to loose their no claims! You have the vehicle details and their insurance company, so it now your insurance companys job to persue this on your behalf. Keep pestering them, they were quite happy to take your money so its now their job to claim the losses agianst the other party. Al

claims can take a year. you have already agreed value of car and received money. Only thing to do is by another car either a banger that wont loose much value or add your access amount and buy a simular car. sometime later fgrom now you will get your excess back.

You wont lose your excess as you only have to pay the excess if its your fault.I would contact your insurance company and say you need a car to get around in, this will be paid for by the other drivers insurance company till you get a pay out and more than likely it will help speed up the case as the other drivers insurance company wont want to pay for a courtesy car for too long. You say that your insurer has blamed the other driver, but it doesn't sound like liability has been agreed, or you would have received an offer for your car. I also find it odd that your car has been scrapped, if the other driver's insurer haven't had the opportunity to examine it. They would normally want to see the damage, to verify what actually happened, the extent of the damage, and the likely value of your car. You can get a hire car from an accident management company, subject to them accepting that the other driver was at fault. This will then be added to the other insurer's bill. You will also recover your excess, and any other losses from the other driver's insurer. Make sure that you keep all of your receipts as proof! Tim
