Well i have 7 indoor cats 6 girls and a boy, two of my eldest girls and my boy have all been nuetered/spayed. I am getting the other 4 girls spayed as and wen i can afford it, BUT the 2 older ones are about a year and a half and they are coming into season like every couple of days, i am getting a bit worried as to wether this is normal AND if there is any way of me getting them to come out of heat quiker (obviously i know spaying would solve everything but i havent got the money right this second and they arent at risk of getting pregnant because they arent ever around an un nutered male)

So please help me before i go completely insane!!!! I cant take much more of this meowing!!!!

hey hye, this sounds alot like zukie, we just thought she was a highly sexed cat! every week she would call, and roll, and generally annoy the hell out of us and our other cat, who oddly enough only had what i would call normal seasons spaced reasonably apart!! we always used to say she was just a whore, cuz she had had a litter and new what she needed to do where as polly didn't have a clue, like u we were driven mad for 7 years until we decided enough was enough!! the problem caused by a cat repeatedly comming into season is the fact that they tend not to eat as much as normal wich is why i think my zuki is so thin!! yes we had her done and polly to, but now zuki still calls and sort of comes in to heat, i asked the vet why, she told me because of zuki's size maybe some cells were left behind therfore still producing hormones!! i dont think u need to worry but i know how annoying the calling is and we only had one cat that did it!!!!

i know its a bit harsh but we got a little water pistol and each time zuki called we gave her a little squirt, but it only worked until she had cleand the water off then she was back to her mission of sex sex and more sex, lukily both of ours are indoor cats otherwise i would now be over run with cats,,,, yes im a bit crazy but not a super crazy cat lady who throws random cats at chilldren who knock at my door!!lol, i think really u have to put up with it,,,,sorry!!

Oh dear nunu i can imagine the stress as when they call they call,Yes everything is normal hun,If you can't get them spayed just yet then this will keep on but the good thing is they should shut up soon as female cat's normally shut down for the winter and start again in the spring.

She has the right idea she keeps going up to my boy, only problem is he is 15 and was nutered wen he was a littl'un!! So he doesnt want to know and is getting pissed off with her but every time he gives her a wack to go away she just meows even more!!

Thinking maybe spaying time for them all

Perhaps the blue-cross or rspca could give you some help with the cost of neutering. No harm in asking. I was told that if a queen called constantly with out being mated, she was more prone to getting cysts on the ovaries. Mine seem to carry on till September with a bit of a lull till Xmas and new year time......

i was talking with a vet the other day and he said that a queen will only come in to season if she can smell a tom cat and a tom will only put out feramons and his glads will only swell if he can smell a queen. he also said the queen will call untill she cant smell the tom any more. im hopin this vet truth full hes not my vet, welfare trust vet we took a stray tom to him. going on him being right you need to put some zoo poo out side your house to keep away the tom cats then she should be quite.
cat action animal welfare will offer vouchers to help out spaying and the rspca some times gets with the cats trust / cat rescue and send out a nutering mobil clinic it cost £10 each and you dont have to be on benifits

i phoned the rspca but i think even though it was there vet i think it was sorted out by cat action. im not sure about other areas but easyier to get hold of cat action. we found out about it about 5 years ago as there was a unit parked out side asdsa but see it in local paper too

There is a very simple solution. Turn your heating off. Yes I am perfectly serious. Cats do not call in temperate climates in the autumn, it is the temperature in the house that is fooling their bodies into thinking it is Spring.

However it is just possible that your local Cats Protection branch might have funding to offer neutering vouchers, this is quite a high priority for many branches. It's worth asking, though it might be only offered if you are on benefits.
