Just wondered how peeps and pets coped together. My Staffy and Chi were absolute wrecks !! Amber my staffy ran around panting all night and no amount of comforting helped. Louie my Chi just layed in his bed panting. My cats just slept through it all. But Amber my staffy was the worst she was in total panic and kept trying to jump in my arms everytime she heard a bang !! Such brave dogs are staffy's lol

Sam, cat, was scared and I think he's hurt his nose by jumping at a firework. Indy, dog, was terrified. Harley, rabbit, was fine and he was the one I was worried about.

well our local display was cancelled due to bad weather and none of my babies were bothered by the smaller ones people were setting off, pip barked a little but was really good otherwise..

i missed most of the display (the one out of town) because i stayed here to see how they were coping with it before i left then left them with my mum to take the kiddies to the display they were all perfectly fine.. it was the kids who got scared haha bless them.

went to check on the rabbits on the way back. they were all fine. they hid in their bedrooms but didnt seem too scared.

every year. kids from all over the place start a bombfire on the oval (its a big field) its not dangerous as they light it surrounded by moist grass and isnt a danger to anyyone.. they used to build it a few days previous and keep it going with all old rubbish from all around the town but a few years back the council came out with fire engines and put it out on bonfire night so last yer they built it after school and it was left lone until gone midnight but tonight they all gathered around and sure enough the fire engines were there before 8pm.. they got there just as we arrived. its a real gutter tbh.. im terrified of fires but even i can stand there and join in coz i know it isnt a danger. its something most of the town all gather round and its a really good time o-one gets drunk. never any fighting, not an aweful lot of noise so it shouldnt be a problem. the whole town enjoy it so i think they should authorize it.

im sure the firemens time would be better spent at a real fire instead of one that isnt in the slightest bit dangerous. but oh no! whe their is a real fire. they wait until neibours have to rescue victims before they even turn up and then when they do actually turn up they stand around looking at the fire for half hour before fetching a hose, even after that half them stand around with a pen and paper..

ive only ever met a couple of TRUE fire fighters as in the kind that would go into a building and actually rescue someone. most of them these days just stand around watching the fire.

they were putting the bonfire out as we arrived and everyone there was chanting something. i didnt catch what but was something like a protst kind of chant telling them what exactly bonfire night is lol.

we had torrential rain and thought it was all cancelled then about 8ish it dried up and off they went , luckily Buffy is fine she actually sits by the baby gate by the back door and watches them im sure she was a gun dog in a previous life as they dont bother her at all , we had a few sparkley ones for the kids as we dont do banging ones with the baby and buffy watched them to .
must be terrible for the ones that dont like them my mum in laws dog is petrified dont think its so much the flashes but the loud noises she makes herself so ill she trembles and cries and tries everywhere to hide , we've tried everything for her but nothing helps .

Fine here , not too many going off even though we had a clear night , Sammy was a star ,the odd woof was soon counteracted with picking up a tennis ball and starting a game , saturday night will be the worst as usual i suppose , my daughter said tonight that on this morning the other day they said that putting an old teashirt fairly tightly on the dog will help it feel more secure ?

We normally take 2 of the pups to training class but I had to miss it last night as we have 2 very noise sensitive dogs and they were winding the others up. None stop barking for around 3 hours! Dreading tonight and tomorrow when most people will be having their firework parties. The dogs had been taken Sereum-UM tablets for a week which usually helps but the fireworks were really loud this year.

My three were fine last night as we only heard two fireworks bang and that was it, monty made himself jump more by jumping on a balloon thinking it was a ball and when it popped tried to hide under my bed.

Berry didnt bat an eyelid, not bothered by fireworks at all. Looked at the window after a few loud ones but then commenced with licking her bum

We just had a few growls when a loud one went off and that was it.

Tracey you're right about the Staffie's being brave, My late Staffie Bruno used to run upstairs and hide in the bath, poor lad hated them.

About an hour ago Dylan was stood by the open back door when a really loud one went over, he ran into the kitchen then went back to the door to see what it was then he just stood at the door watching them not bothered. He wasn't even trembling and he usually does when he's excited or scared.
