Well it's one way of pest control and rabbits can be a huge problem in places. So long as they're culled humanely.

mmmmmmmmmmm that a different way i have to say
i agree with lis as long as they are shot cleanly and humanly then i dont have a problem with that tbh its no diff to shooting and eating them and better than cremating them as that puts co2 out too powering the plant for it so using them to conserve energy seems a good idea all round to me i have to say

im only to aware of this!! as u may know i used to live on a holiday park and in winter they hired a man with a silent gun to drive around in the winter at night and shoot the rabbits, if the rabbits were allowed to breed and breed and breed there would of been thousands of them, i think its bad but u gotta think what if they didnt cull them, one morning i saw 30 on one feild and the site was onle 25/30 acres big they even lived on the rocks surrounding the beach, there were so many everywhere, i watched a programme once about a man who shot rabbits on a cemetary he used a motorbike, the thing is if he missed all the rabbits would dissapear and he would have to wait a couple of nights and try again, its sad and bad but probably has to happen!

thats where the saying breeding like rabbits comes from :0)

they are ready to breed in the wild at around 4mths of age and can from then on have 4 -6 babies every 31 days this doesnt always happen though but it can most does dont live beyond 12mths and not all the babies make it either but if you get say 3 from each litter surviving and breeding within just one yr you are going to have a lot of rabbits about just from one single doe so times that by approx 100 for example thats a hell of a lot of rabbits needing a lot of food ok in fields maybe but parks hmmm not goning to leave much are they kind of scary when you look it in the numbers way at
