Petrol in Nissan Terrano Diesel

I have stupidly put 23 litres of diesel in my Nissan Terrano whats the easiest way t get the petrol out without having to call someone out for £100's . The tank was virtually empty and i was towed home so engine has not been run.

you have to drain the tank. either siphon it out, use the hand pump on the diesel filter to pump it out. might take a while. but easiest i would say is to look for a drain plug on the botton of the tank. some jap stuff have these.make sure you change the fuel filter afterwards too

Thanks - in the end a friend of mine came around from the local garage - John Delany Motors Stockport. He went to the rear of the car pulled up the carpet under the bench seat. There is an access area to the top of the tank - 4 screws. Under here is the sender unit. Removed the two connectors that hold the fuel pipes in. Then he took off the cover giving access to the tank, this looked tricky as the bolts were fairly rusty but in the end they came out ok - removed the unit that feeds the petrol from the tank. Result was we had a space you could easily get your hand in so we sphion off the petrol. Then when almost empty we put 10 litres of diesel in then took it to the garage and filled up. Taking it back to Delany's on Monday to get a new fuel filter. So far so good.
