I have nothing against crossbreeds,i have them myself,but i find it totaly unbelieveable the price that is being put on some of these crossbreed puppies.You know the ones,that have these stupid made up names containing both breeds.Just seen some for over £650..I used to breed years ago so i know how much it costs to raise pups,and i know that food,vet,and all other expenses have risen so i'm allowing for that!!The problem is,if people are stupid enough to pay this sort of money for(yes i will say it again)a crossbreed then this will carry on.Another name for them is designer dogs....Noooo....a celebrity bought a crossbreed thats all,but somehow everyone jumps on the bandwagon and starts breeding crossbreeds just to make money.Are there not enough dogs,pedigree and crossbreeds that need homes without deliberatly breeding more.As i said at the beginning i have nothing against crossbreeds,i have them myself,and no i dont have to buy one of those overpriced puppies,but it does get my back up that it obviously gets done for the money.A careing 'breeder'doesn't do it for the money..it's about improving what you have!!!
Please feel free to leave your thoughts about my rant but i will not be dragged into ant arguments or debates...this was my opinion and i wanted to air it!

oh dear oneofeach, u have just opened a can of worms,,ill wait and watch whilst sitting on a makeshift fence until the wall arrives, i will say one thing though i agree a x is a x despite being a x with 2 ped breeds, and yes people charge alot for them but usually to make sure they go to good homes,,,ok on the fence just now

Yep i agree , but this has been talked about so many times now , if only we knew how to fix it , as you say if people didn't pay it in the first place , but there will always be people with more money than sense sadly ! and like you i have had crossbreeds most of my life too ( apart from two Golden Retrievers ) and my present dog is Labby x BC but we still only payed £125 for him ( which is about our limit really ) i wouldn't pay more than £400/£550 max for a pedigree either , def not the £700/800 mark you see them for today .

i hopping up on the wall too psml a member on here has just sold an entire litter of said x breeds for a good price and they are lush very well looked after puppiesshove up bones and gimme some room and some warm blanket to its freezing on here

i have been looking at prices of chis, just now, and the cheapest i saw was 450 but i also saw some jr x chis that were 600 a perfect example of what has been mentiond,,,,P.S dont tell my OH i have been looking *!#%!@

I'm in no way saying that any of these xbreed pups have not been raised well,i am not in a position to comment on that as have not seen any off them,but charging all that money does not guarantee that they will go to or remain in a good home.I have worked in places,rescue and boarding for many many years(yes I'm an oldie) and i can tell you the amount of less common breeds plus rare breeds that i have seen go into rescue or not very well cared for is unreal.

i think there are just too many dogs being bred ful stop!!!. not just peds or x breeds or "special x breeds" we are turning into a throw away country of animal keepers rather than animal lovers!!
