We have a Hymer campervan reg 2007 and have covered 8150 miles, the van was 4 months out of warranty when the turbocharger blew damaging the intercooler, repairs have now been carried out but Fiat have declined to contribute to the cost of repairs which amounted to almost £1000. Is there a known problem with this component. regards hymie

Hymie, Don't know about turbo troubles but this following may help with costs:-E.U Reg's, Statute of Limitations No.1957 sec 1.
You may be able to recover the charges for the trubo but not labour . These Reg's I beleive extended the makers guarantee from 1 to 2 years and parts for up to 6 years. I quoted them after being refused a (21 months old) TV repair after which it was repaired f.o.c. Check it out with your local authority consumer dept.
