Just bought the above car. Took it for a spin on the dual carriage way last night in preperation for driving to wales tomorrow and i had to literally press the gas pedal to the floor!!! it would not go over 65mph any ideas out there with what could be wrong??

It's my first car and i dont want to get fobbed off. the guy i bought it from is sensing his mechanic mate round later today to look at it.

i'd lean towards fuel and air filter without actually lookin and listenin to it.
hows it run on tickover?

check the e.g.r valve as the get cloged up and restriched power
