Tell me what you got and i will tell you how. The main restrictions are carburetor, reed valve assembly, and exhaust on most italian bikes. I can de restrict anything, there ain't one made i can't make quicker, but by the way it is illegal for you to ride it after i have fixed it up. I can make all the parts for the GSM or similar engines.

how do i fully derestrict my y reg dtr125 i have a full dep exhaust and bousen race reeds but it is still slow and has a rev limiter can u help please

what revs are you limited to? what size is the carb and inlet? If you are able check the port timing and compare specs to 125cc motocrosser. it is real simple. once you have the specs of the crosser, just copy it on your bike.All the after market *!#%!@ like reed valves and exhaust are just that [Log in to view email] Two Strokes go fast because of port timing, carb size and compression ratios. by compression ratios I mean the primary compression in the crankcase and the secondary compression in the combustion chamber. Very few manufactures alter the barrel and the ports, although some Japs do. Most alter the inlet and carb as the main restrictor, saves them money making different engines. the inlet on a two stroke works below the speed of sound. by putting a tiny carb and inlet it stops the flow of air into the engine, no air no power. So it don't matter what you do to the exhaust, if you aint getting it in there is no point worrying about getting it out. give me some specs on the engine and I can tell you what to do. I don't have information for every bike out there, but two strokes all work the same just like computers.

oh smig u have a dtr my favourite i have a full power one . ur dep exhaust is goood the reeds are good all u have to do now is open up the power valve thats where the true power is hidden, its easy to do take off front exhaust pipe look into the port on the front of the engine u will see the power valve it should be around half open now take the left hand round cover off the power valve now turn it untill the exhaust port is open u may need to adjust peg in cover to make it fit mine was already done when i got it but it does nearly 110 mph its amazing what extra power it gives mine absolutley flies let me know how u get on

tried that meney of time when i take the electronic power valve off it takes ages to build up to the p valve not like the old ones ive had can u still please help?

smig get rid of your electronic power valve and buy a seconhand standard one my dtr is rapid it flys upto 6000 rpm then it like u r going to take off u should be able toget a a power valve and end cover for around £20 -£30 second hand

try buying a set of racing reeds they got a perfect set on http://www.racespec.co.uk for £28 approx they make a nice difference to alleceration

smig i just realised u already got the reeds the next step is to get a second hand cdi ignition kit off a 1989 or 1990 model they are unrestricted and are a straight replacement with amazing results being a g reg mine already has itdone and i raced an unrestricted apprilia rs 125 today and kicked his ass i need a new front pipe any idea where i can get a half decent one cheapish i got a big one [fresco] front pipe but its so thin the rust has got the better of it

darhys yes there are certain ways firstly when u drive does it take off between 6000-7000 rpm if so u have a fully opened power valve what is ur top speed let me know and i cand tell u wots been done to it

like i said earlier after 1991 they had a rev limiter in the black box under tank get on off of a pre 1991 model that will remove the limiter

The power valve is only for mid range power, just lock it full open and don't buy anything.
