Scorpio rear caliper seal

Scorpio rear caliper seal

Hi, I've got a ford scoripo 1991 and it leaks brake fluid out from the seal round the handbrake lever on the rear caliper. The seal had popped out; I tried to pop it back in but could only get it in half way. Anybody know these calipers better than I do?

Never seen one of those do that...if it's leaking fluid that is under an awful lot of pressure. Unlikely you will get it back in, also dangerous to use it in that condition.
Likely only answer is a re-manufactured unit or new one if your feeling rich.

Recollection of these calipers - The handbrake actuator is a cylindrical rod thru' an 'O' ring. the outer seal is really a dust deterrant - you should really replace the caliper.....

So it really means the inner o ring is leaking which is causing pressurised fluid to push out the dust seal.
