Does anyone know if you can put the 2.0 HDI engine in my 1996 citroen synergie
as my 1.9 engine is tired and guttless
what changes need to be made to fit it?

Surely it would be simpler to substitute a 1.9 TD engine from a Xantia or similar. You would want to change the gearbox as well to get maximum benefit as the final drive ratio would be different.

If the engine/Gearbox is a standard fit in the newer model and the same 15 " wheel is used why would the ratio be differant ?

hi if your syniergie engine is knackerd will you be selling the gearbox on it ?? it has to be 20hm26 model as i am looking for it for my 806 1.9 td

sorry i need the gearbox it keeps the wheels going around.engine is running, but tired, but i am stuck with it for the moment, just trying to find out what my options are but no one with worthwhile info has advised yet, are you saying there is a special gearbox for this vehicle?

yer there are specific gearboxs for these cars. the gearbox which i tried to replace for my 806 was adiffrent one due to the gear selector being in a deiffrent place
