Not really the place for a general chat is it?. . . . unless you are having problems with your Astra.

why not? I might eventually ask if anyone knows about my broken thermometer on my dashboard. then it would be about astras, just not for a while, and a little far from the point. plus, someone needs to dignify with a response to officially create a chat. otherwise i would just be posting pointless messages, which is clearly not happening atall.plus, i was THINKING about my astra when i logged on. prove i wasn't.

The windscreen wipers on my 2001 Astra 1.6 sxi are not going all the way and don't stop where they should, is this likely to be the motors and are they easily replaced? Cheers.

sounds as if you've not got the wipers in the right place. Take the arms off, swivel them round a few notches, push them back on then try again.

hiya mate i had a similar problem once i was driving along and my power steering cut out but i had the battery light on the problem turn out to be the alternator in the end think it has to put out 14v or sommat like that and mine was putting out 13.9v so id say it sounds like the alternator it cuts out things taht u can manage without just to get u home is it runs below its operating voltage

its about a 30000 mile interval. so it will DEFINATELY need changing at 135000 miles, if 105 thousand was when it was changed. which i expect it was. but you need to find out.
