I have a '96N Fiesta 1.3 LX which has done approximately 65k miles. 12 months ago (18k miles) it failed it's MOT, due to worn wishbone bushes (I was told that this is a common fiesta problem). The garage told me that the best course of action was to replace the wishbones, which was done. This year, my car passed it's MOT but I was advised that the same problem would need attention in the very near future.

Is this normal wear and tear or should I take this problem back to the garage that did the work for me last year? Does this reoccurance indicate a deeper issue, or have poor quality parts been used?

Thanks

David

I'd say that was about right, my Escort went through about one a year. I was fitting them myself and they cost under £25 so I wasn't bothered.

You can buy genuine bushes separately from Ford for something like £10 but most people regard fitting them as a waste of effort. The labour cost involved in changing the bushes would be better spent on a complete arm.

Ask your Ford dealer how much an arm costs, you might be pleasantly surprised.
