Baotian 50cc 4stroke help?

I am another owner of a BT50QT-9 that wants to increase the performance of the scooter, at least on steep hills. The mechanic in charge of the moto service has already removed the brass screw (e-mark restriction) form the carb and there has been a small improvement. He also said that he can convert the scooter from 50cc to 70cc at a cost of 150 Euros, which is the only improvement apart from the derestriction. Here in this forum I have noticed that there are some additional things one can do to improve the performance a bit further. I have read about cutting a bit of plastic from the distributer, adjusting a needle under the flange cover and adjusting a notch near a brass screw. All this is very difficult if you are not familiar with the internals of the engine. I noticed that you have a service manual available of the scooter. i moved the brass screw in my scooter and its much better, what else can i do to make it go faster, i clock about 35mph, what is the pin thing and where is it located many thanks shaggi
I also have the same problem with the guel gauge. It moves a bit higher from the parking position when I turn the key to the ignition position but it always shows that the tank is empty regardless of the fuel. Is it possible to e-mail me the solution to the following address: [Log in to view email]
My name is Stelios and I come from Greece, where Baotian are also selling. I just read about cutting the plastic bit from the distributer. Can you be more descriptive of the procedure. Do you mean cutting the narrowing black plastic rubber that starts from the rim of the distributer and covers the wires leading into the distributer. What possible difference can that make, I mean how can electronic parts be affected by plastic bits? I would be very grateful if you gave me a brief explanation of this enhancement.
Just got my Baotian 50cc 4 stroke, and the damn thing wont start. The starter motor spins and spins but there is no spark. The kick start is no good either. Thanks guys

i removed the brass screw, my scooter is going faster now, max 35mph, could u please explain to me what is the washer/needle, i understand u can improve performance by moving the washers to position...etc, where are they located? i appreciate your help thanks shaggi
I too have a fuel gauge problem.......done 90kms, and it still says full!...What is the problem? Thanks. JAS
