Hi Lars, I also brought my scooter when you did. Today i have no kick start and no engine just a wering noise. Any advice. I took the brass screw out and moved the washer down about 3 months ago and its been fine but i can smell fuel (may be flooding). Linda.

Hello,
I am still without the electric start but I can get it working with the kick-start. The brass screw I do not think have anything to do with the starting problem, because I have also removed it and this did not affect the starting on my bike. I have been advised that it might be the battery that is low and therefore the electric start does not work. However my bike is now stored for the Swedish winter so I will take a look when the spring arrives.
BRgds

Hi Lars, My husband thinks it could be the cdi box (next to the battery). He is going to the warehouse today to pick up another one. (still under warranty) Gary from ebay would post it out.No electric getting through cdi box on meter. I can't kick start mine it's turning over but not fireing. Will let you know the out come. Linda.

Hello LAPE!
BILTEMA has a cheap charger for MC, It cost around $10!!
You ought to charge the battery some times during the winter otherwise it will be spoiled...

When you remove bolt which holds the front wheel on you need to use the half inch long shim\spacer that is with it in between the innerright hand fork and the hub this gives you the clearance you need soo that the disk isnt being forced on to the brake caliper hope this helps.

Hi,

I haven't had this problem myself but a friend of mine called me over because his scooter would not start.

I looked it over and all seamed fine it just would not start even though there was a spark and the battery was charged.

On further investigation it turned out that it had been run low on fuel, and these scoots use the vacume from the enginge to switch on the fuel to the carb. If you follow the fuel pipe from the tank you will see the valve and the small pipe running to the right hand side of the engine.

Remove this pipe (it's only small and does not go to the carb) and suck quite hard on the end of it for 10-15 seconds then reconect it.

Now start the bike but hold it on the brake and open the throtle quite wide, it should start after a second or so when it does just keep it running for 60 seconds with the brake on. Jump on and ride up and down the road for a few mins to check that the fuel is getting to the carb.

It's as easy as that, well the best thing is to not run them low on fuel.

Hi Fredrik, I was hoping you would get back to me to let me know if you have fixed your problem and what it was. Any body else had problem with elecric start and kick start. No spark getting through. Think it might be CDI box. Any Advise welcome. Linda.

After reading the threads on this site, I rang Lexham Insurance today and insured my 16 year old son for his new Baotian. total cost was £147.56 Third Party only.

I asked about Third Party Fire and Theft but the quote rose to over £300 plus an excess of £500. Only paid £520 for it on ebay.

Needless to say, I went with the Third Party only. Very good price.

the info on Insurance with Lexham was very useful. I rang them and they quoted me £147.56 all in for Third Party only for my 16 year old son.. Excellent price. However, I asked how much for Third Party Fire and Theft and that price rocketed to over £300 with an excess of £500. The ped only cost £520 on ebay.

This forum is very useful, thanks to everyone who has posted info on it.
