Thanks Mark
Few days ago i had a low speed tumble off my baotian onto grass, it was purely and accident and no visual damage was done, but as i picked up the bike, it was leaking oil, but it seemed like it was only leaking oil while it was on its side because as soon as i picked it up, no oil was leaking it was just dribling down onto the floor. I rode it a good few miles back home, the oil itself was still relativelyly full and it hadnt lost much (it has been replaced now too, just incase and it hasnt leaked since!) , but now it sounds like its angry all the time :P it grumbles like mad, it sounds like its coming from the Drive belt kind of region and when i do start up the machine, little specks of fluid (i dont know if its oil or what :S) splatter on the air filter box (thing lol) anyone got any ideas, it would be much appreciated... Thankyou!
It could be gear oil leaking just under the air filter holder. So check it up and tighten the the nuts - it might be sort the problem out.
Took the bike to get serviced today and as i was driving there, it just stopped, there was no drive. the guy at the servicing place said that the timing chain had gone inside the engine and wanted £250 for a new engine or he would give me £50 for the bike, so i wheeled it a good few miles home LOL. thanks for the reply though Zakir Adverts Currently On Preloved - Place an ad here for free
At the other end of the drive belt is a centrifugal clutch,it has been known for the lining to disintergrate, this would loose u your drive . Also u mentioned a oil leak erlier, oil on the clutch or on the drive belt could loose u your drive. also your oil leek is probably from the cylinder head breather pipe, its nothing to worry about. also u mentioned scoot was noisier since u fell off ,this could be the kickstart mechinism half engaged from your tumble
Yes the mechanic guy said the oil was nothing to worry about and no the engine doesnt work, the bike wont start. the mechanic said some sort of chain in the engine has snapped or come off. it didnt go bang or anything as i was riding it when it happened today, the other bit about the oil leak ect was from when i fell off last friday. I have been using it in the week since to get to school and back but today it lost the drive, it stopped in the middle of the road, as if i had run out of petrol. thanks
IF THE CHAIN HAS SNAPED IT IS A BIG JOB TO REPLACE IT. IF THE CHAIN HAS JUMPED OFF THE SPROCKET U CAN UNBOLT THE SPROCKET AND PUT THE CHAIN BACK ON BUT U MUST LINE UP THE TIMING MARKS ON THE SPROCKET AND ON THE CRANK FAN OR THE CAMSHAFT WILL BE OUT OF SYNK AND BEND THE VALVES. IT IS LIKELY THAT IT HAS ALLREADY BENT AT LEAST ONE VALVE,THEY ARE NOT MUCH TO BUY BUT U WILL NEED A VALVE COMPRESSOR TOOL ALSO. U WILL HAVE FREE PLAY ON THE VALVE ROCKER IF IT HAS BENT A VALVE.
Best regards Zakir
heres a pic of the starter solanoid. short a spanner across the large red lead and the large black lead.If the starter spins then the start motor is ok.if it dose not spin then either the battery is flat or the starter motor is duff. the small black lead to the solenoid is the 12volt feed from the start button.this should read 12volts when u press the start button,if it dose not read 12volts then u need a new start button.if it dose read 12volts but the solenoid still wont switch on and send current to the starter then u need a new solenoid.
