Hi johnny, The people i got my scooter from on ebay. parts covered for one year. They are from wimbledon.My husband calls in to pick them up. We have tried one from there but mercanic thinks it still could be cdi box.There is a place in linconshire. if that is any nearer to you. i live in farnborough. Linda.

I have had a Boatian 50cc for about 5 Months, I bought it from the Guy in Wimbledon. Fantastic Bike no prob at all. A couple of questions:
Can someone please send me a pdf of the manual?
I took out the brass screw, I am off the speedo down hills and get about 45 max on the flat, whats this about moving a pin also? Ca i get any faster?
What do I need to do about oil? I have never owned a Scooter before, how do I check if it needs some?
When I bought it the guy Kick Started, a few times I have had trouble starting, BUT I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO KICK START (I have it on its stand and am pressing the brake)?My tip for starting, is never to give any trottle before it turns over Happy Boatianing

Hi everyone, really useful discussion board, so i hope someone can help me out. I am looking to buy a 50cc Baotian at the weekend, but want to make sure it is a good bike before I part with my well earned cash! Does anyone ride it with a pillion? Does it go OK? Don't want to grind to a hault with my girlfriend on the back. What are they like on the london hills? Any advice on how it performs would be great.Many thanks, New Scoot

linda, how about earthing is that all present and correct, also single stand not causing a safty cutout or brake not forming a conection?

just go on the baotian web site then, you can contact them through that some one will send you a mail back i have dealt with wolf and a girl called kelly.

Easy all...
Glad to see ya all still using me thread...
Well i had a few drama's with mine mainly caused by me main stand snapping, so i had to use the side stand permanently, and that caused my auto cut off on the sidestand to make me bike randomly cut out, so i disconnected it and the nice folks at Trade imports have finally sent me a main stand and a indicator cover which got broke, so all is fantastic..
I've done 5000km and most of em at over 50mph, the bikes going great...Ahh and if anyone is seriously interested in doing a site for this bike as i have seen the forum ect, i do a couple http://www.dnbstreet.com being the main one and i have bought http://www.baotian.co.uk and have some space but i ain't doing it all by meself as i really ain't got the time..

My step-daughter has had her baotion since September 04 and we have had nothing but problems. The wheel rims are porous, meaning air can escape through the metal rim, The circlip on the carb needle vanished without trace and now the fuel tap is knackered, oh and the fuel gauge works on and off. So can anyone tell where to get spares as my local motorcyle shop can't get get any for this scooter, they say if it's related to Honda then there from mars and these chaps are real hairy greebo bikers all fully trained but beaten by a 50cc scooter.

Hi,My home PC has been struggling to view this site so I haven't been able to post back for a while. Right, my problem was easily resolved in the end - I just didn't have enough petrol in!! It had the bare minimum that it came with from the shop, so when I topped it up it all started OK.
The only thing is that I cannot seem to kick start - but electric start is working fine. I feel a bit of a numpty really!!! the duck - where have you got your tax disk as I have got the retro model also and am not sure where is best?

Hi Danz, we have tried that. mechenic has said there is no spark, we have changed the spark plud and the cdi box turning over but no spark. Linda.

herberti have put my tax disc in a standard bike chrome holder mounted on LHS front wheel nut - looks alright though i think the chrome helps!
