GOD..
i am soo pleased that soo many people have found this bike and are enjoying it.. Mine is still going great doing 45-50 down the A13 every day to work..

i find it highly amuzing actually whizzing thru the traffic, i wished i'd got one when i was 16 and not 28...lol

i can honestly say i have not had a problem with mine in the slightest(touch wood) had minor teething problem putting the alarm on but thats all sorted now and its great, god bless ebay..lol

one more thing, has anyone else noticed that the bike seems to want to do more when your flying, just mine seems to chug as tho it wants to go faster so i release the throttle a bit and theres a point where it picks up more... its mad, go off the clock on some straights and 40 up hill.. wahoooo..lol

It goes 35 mph now but sill not quick engough. We have just taken brass screw out today, but i don't think this will be the answer. Some one said you need to remove washer from exhaut pipe.Any body know?

Linda,

Mot sure about this washer - will ask my brother - it is difficult because my sons bike is already re-restricted....and obviously the parts to which you refer do not exist on his bike.

Linda - you said your insurance was £150 - did this include any admin charge by Lexham?

I have now received the policy at £140.70 & they have just told me £35 admin charge has been made making the total £175.70 (which is what I paid) but they did not tell me about their admin charge at the outset. What premium is on your policy? The same £104.70?

Cheers,

Phil

My son has a yellow & black one - bought it on Saturday last & its the dogs b**l*cks - even better than the black version.

My son had the same problem - nowhere to put number plates - even the tax disc was a problem to fit.

In the end we had to get sticky l-plates - the back one has been cut down to fit the mudguard although I dont think this is legal - Am awaiting for him to be stopped by pc plod - maybe the copper will have a suggestion !!!!

cheers,

Phil 11/10/04

ignore my previous ref to number plates (i meant l-plates).

Front l-plate has been stuck over the front mudguard - a bit messy too as it is creased up.

If you de-resrict the bike with low-milage, will it screw up the bike?

or will it not be so bad if i stick to low speeds like 30mph ect....

Has anyone found the bike worse since doing the de-restriction?

The only thing I have noticed is that it is "choking" sometimes when pushing to much, and then I have to let go off the accelarator some and then it comes back again.
Maybe someone has a solution for this?

but is that pushing the bike to its max, or once in a while going fast, i only want to go fast once in a while, eg. main roads...

Webber,

To answer your questions:-

Insurance - if you are 16 then its obvious from the forum the best deal can be obtained from lexham.co.uk who are insurance brokers using a scooter policy underwritten by NIG. Prices for 16 yr old with CBT range from £150 to £178 (which includes an admin charge by lexham of up to £35) but even this is miles better than the competition - next best quote I got was £421 from NU scheme thro another broker. If you are older then it may pay to shop around using Google or other search engine (lexham may still prove to be cheapest).

As regards running in I was strictly told (by the retailer of the bike) to abide by the manual ie 20mph (kph?) max for first 200 miles (cant remember what rest was) - because this could seriously impact on performance in later life.

As to your comments regarding re-restricting, why ask whether it would be worse? If you want to de-restrict it can only be for better speed. Regardless of re-restrictions if you dont run in properly it may not give your engine a good life. If you intend to run the bike in properly, I suggest you dont tempt yourself to speed & leave the derestricting until after it has been run in...

Cheers,

Phil.

I've only just bought this bike for my Son - he has the same problem which seems to be common.

If you let go & preess the starter again it will turn over properly- I dont know of any solution...
