i've read through this forum loads of times and i still cant find the brass screw.i've even been to german web pages. when i open the hatch there is a disk. i undo that and then theres a spring which goes into the middle of this black rubber thing.i looked under the cap and around that area but i still cant find this brass screw.is it the pin that is under the spring which is about 2 inches long?

same as me i cant find brass screw,i looked every where,think the brass screw is on the old model`s.Have u diconnected the pink wire from your cdi that make it a bit faster,anyway if u want to make it even faster the dealer told me to buy a deristricted cdi,so i ordered one awaiting it coming and al let u know

thanks for the info.just one thing though.as you look at service manual 1 on page 67 is it the fuel volume regulation screw?

ALSO DID U TAKE OUT THE PINK WIRE FROM THE CDI THAT STOPS THE BIKE FROM STANDING STILL WHEN YOU GET TO 28-30mph

Regarding this screw business... I have a brand new Baotian and was very suprised when I could easily take it up to 40/45mph straight away. So I looked under the black cap in the seat compartment and mine didn't actually have a screw in it, so I am assuming that it was taken out before I got it - I bought it from Trade Imports. Has anyone else found this? So, if you are not finding the screw, I am assuming it isn't there!! I guess I have been lucky with my scoot as it goes like a dream and apart from the odd time when the petrol gauge sticks (common problem I know) its perfect, I havent had to snip any wires or remove any bits to get her to go any faster as 45mph is fast enough for me!! :-)) Perhaps you should get in touch with the place you got yours from and just ask if the screw has been removed already... ??? Thanks a bunch. At last a full workshop/repair manual for the Baotian scooter. I downloaded and printed the 200 pages this
morning. With this nothing should be a problem. All we need now
is a list of spares suppliers.Thanks again

Hi Ann, I brought mine from trade inports 9 months ago. Took out brass screw but still has a job to get going. mechanic said the deristriction is usally in CDI box, which is what somebody said this morning.Waiting for a reply how he gets on.Glad your is running like a dream. Linda.

I got my Baotian scooter around 2 months ago new and the only restriction i was told was the pink wire. Since then the speed hasnt been to bad, would like to make some improvments still. Anyway I really need some help with my front forks, i basicly had an accident on it and they are kinda bent, i just have to keep the steering only slightly to the left to go straight, can these be unbent or do they have to be replaced, and if so can someone tell me a garage around Reading - London area please, closer to Reading though. Hey gazza......i ad 2 get a new CDI unit aswel....mine does 40-45 on the flat....ive had 50 with strong wind behind me n downhill its somewher between 50-60mph....however the new CDI unit will not electric start unless i switch them over b4 it cuts out......it can be kick startd eventually tho as an alternative....i got anothr 1 sent thru n stil av the same problem.....do u?

hey every one whats the top speed you can get out of ur bikes and dose it squeek when you pull off. Mine will go 50mph on stright and 60-65mph down hill and dose ne one no if there is a sports exhaust 4 this bike and where can i get a spoiler for it from.
where is this wire in the cdi to cause if i take wires out the bike wont start.

Hi everyone,
I bought a Boatian 50cc september 2004 and it´s riding great. I think someone forgot the obligatory restrictor because it nearly gets to 50 mph. I had a problem on the one and only hot day in september. All winter my bike rode well but the same problem occurred yesterday when it was the first hot day since september. The problem occurs after the bike has stood in bright sunshine for an hour or so. Then, when I start it and ride away, the bike doesn´t pull and it rides joltingly. Only when you ´play´a bit with the gashandle he might suddenly pull forward. When you can hold your speed it´s ok, but speed lost, the jolting happens again.Can anybody give me a hint what the problem might be??? Tnx, Marjanne

I have a Baotian BT50QT-11 (Retro) coming on Wednesday, just a few questions:
1.How much engine and gear oil comes with the bike and what is the correct specifaction?2.To get a insurance quote, do lexham except the vin number? 3.Can you register the scooter at your local DVLA office in person?

hi Marjanne, i had the same problem with the bike joultin try checking the carb and have a look at the needle if its bent bend it back as it will not be letting much petorl through hope this helps

hi everyone has anyone found how to make the acceloration faster as my bike is always on a go slow till it reaches 30mph then goes up to 48mph quiet quickly kinda hard on roundbouts lol
