where did you get the bike? I think most people on this forum got theirs from ebay. If thats the case the guys there have loads of spare parts that they will send to you.

yeah mine was from ebay, but i was told you can buy extra parts for the bike:E.g. Different style wingmirrors

I just by a BAOTIAN 50cc 4stroke, make only 40 km.And find a red wire on right back side under plastic hood,I cut it and get speed of 60km/h,before 45km/h.

I've removed the brass screw and moved the washer on the needle to the middle position - is that what you mean when you say 2nd to last? My scoot seems to only be hitting about 35-38mph and I was hoping for at least 45mph. My model is the BT50QT-9 - is your the same?My flange cover was black and not orange - I was wondering if there are different carbs?

Dropped the washer to the one below last but haven't noticed much improvement. I think I'll try the bottom one!

few days late for any replies.....sorry,
i made my bike go faster by firstly . cutting back the plastic bit on distributor cap, so it was level with the rim of cap..then, (after advice from forum users) i removed the brass screw entirely! then i put the small washer onto the second to last setting on the needle, which is located under the rubber flange(see forum). the bike takes a little time getting there.. but i average 40 mph+ and again today ,, went 51mph ...under good conditions..
i cannot expect much more..i mean ...it`s only 50 cc !!!

Didn't seem to notice much difference having it on the lowest setting - does anyone think there is a problem with leaving it like this? Counting from the blunt end of the needle down to the tip there are 5 settings, i.e. 5,4,3,2,1 - mine is set to 1, Am I right in thinking the recommended setting is 3? The lower down the washer is fitted , the higher the needle sits so I just wondered if my fuel economy will suffer like this, although if acceration is improved it will be worth it. I managed to get 51 down a steep hill and average 30 up quite steep hills, 25 up very steep hills and 38-41 on normal roads when I'm on a roll. From a standing start is scoots along to 35 pretty easily. The manual, states that the max speeds are 45kph/60kph which means 28mph/38mph. I brimmed the tank and have done 116km so far and the fuel gauge is just below maximum... Scoot -_-

Been looking for more info on the jet needle and it's positions complete with a diagram and I've found it here:http://auto.howstuffworks.com/framed.htm?pare......01/carb101.html Check out Fig 4. They have reversed the way I described it. Reading this, I might be running too rich so I'm going to move the clip to position 3 and see how it goes..... Trade Imports reckon *all* that is required is the removal of the brass screw and that is what the manufacturer has sent them vis mail - although playing about with the jet needle has definitely made a difference over that!

Scoot, Trade Imports told me all i have to do is cut the plastic piece inside the carb lid.They also emailed me a diagram how to do it. It didn't help much. we then removed brass screw as forum says,that also has not made alot of difference. we are going to move washer at the weekend will let you know how we get on. Linda.

been riding my bike now for a week, everything has been fine untill i checked the dip stick and found there was no oil in the damn thing. what oil do i need to put in ? im not really clued up with the 4 strike engines.
