My 10 year old daughter hates wearing tights to school and I end up making her wear them. She also will dislikes wearing skirts which is a problem when we go out as family.
I know some people just say let her do her own thing, but Im she she is just pushing the boundaries. Any other mums with daughters who hate wearing tights? Its a silly issue really but it makes me mad!!!

Leave her alone, she wil come round when the fashions change and she wants to keep up with them!! from mother of 2 (aged 11 and 14)

ha ha , my daughter is also 10 and won't wear tights and hates wearing pants, we have screaming matches every morning it's bloody hard work with her, i have 2 other daughters 7 and 16 and they are totally opposite they both love make up where the 10 year old hates it, our neighbours think she great i do too but just wish she was still a 4 year old because once she hit 5 thats when my troubles started,

Can't she wear smart trousers?? Tights are a little babyish for that age... And skirts are'nt the only dressy thing around! I have four kids 2,3,7,9 They wear what they are comfortable in Nothing too tarty/scruffy ect and smart trousers are all my nine year old will wear.

hiya, i wish she would wear smart trousers! she is so stubborn and is very old headed 10 going on 30 , she is a bit of a tomboy only wont wear the pants not even trackie bottoms, she will wear trainers but with everything when we went to a wedding we managed to get her to wear a skirt but she insisted on wearing her trainers so we did a deal she wore shoes to church and changed into trainers about 7pm

Oh well fingers crossed she will grow out of that when she gets a little older. If not then she will be like me the only dress i have worn for twenty years is my wedding dress......LoL

there is no point makeing her wear them she will only rebel against them even more.Your daughter is a typical 10 year.My daughter wouldnt wear tights but now she realises how cold winter can be she is willinjg to put tights on.My daughter also wears trainers with everything.But I figure as long as she is comfortable there is no need to make a fuss.
