Deisel Saxo Hesitating on Acceleration

Deisel Saxo Hesitating on Acceleration

I've got a 96 Deisel Saxo 1.5D and just recently noticed a problem with hesitation. This was occuring initially when doing 60+ mph and usually after going over a bump. It's happening more often now and at lower speeds. It doesn't cut out but there is a lack of power or at least it feels as though no power to the engine. I did run the fuel tank right down to the bottom a couple of weeks ago and i've only noticed the problem since then.. Any ideas anyone ??
