Rusper, Brain's probably hit the nail on the head, I'd also say the battery is flat as the yellow comes on at 10.3 volts. in my case they'd forgotten to switch the charger on! As for filter housing splitting, always use 'silicone grease' on the filters 'O' ring seal and threads, this will give a good 'feel' when you screw it in so you won't over tighten it. It's not as good but Olive oil works well, no other cooking oil though and never ever use Vaseline! ___________________ website: http://www.arcsystems.biz email: [Log in to view email] If you want to join the 'CARVER QUESTIONS' discussion and ask a new question, click on any 'reply to this message' within that discussion and your question will then appear on the last page.
What do you need to be able to mend my switch, just the board or the box and board and multi pin plug. Heather
Unless that is you have the modern press button switch? in which case all of it, don't try taking this one apart ___________________ website: http://www.arcsystems.biz email: [Log in to view email] If you want to join the 'CARVER QUESTIONS' discussion and ask a new question, click on any 'reply to this message' within that discussion and your question will then appear on the last page.

I lifted the bench lids and inspected the area of the wheel arch to see why it was leaking water from there (as I was aware the water tank is central to the flooring and not on the drivers side) my thought being that the piping was leaking which led to the tank! on inspection I noticed damp around the base of the wardrobe near the pump and on finding that I took out the access panel to the boiler and found it was boiling away (although no taps were on, nor had they been for quite a while ) I saw the front panel of the boiler had distorted and water and steam was pouring all over the floor of the van, I immediately switched off the gas supply and the carver switch which was still showing green and switched on the pump and hot water taps and drained the system ( which did not take long as the tank was empty. I then noticed although the water tank was empty and the taps and gas were now all turned off the bolier still continued to try and boil, I then switched off the 12 volt switch and the boiler stopped! I was then left with no water and no lights as the 12 volt switch had to remain off and a very wet floor in my van!!....can anyone tell me what happened , was this my fault?? I surely thought the boiler only boiled after drawing hot water (on demand!!) why was my boiler constantly boiling until it burst? Any advice on how this happened and what I should do next would be very much appreciated. Dave Adverts Currently On Preloved - Place an ad here for free
Sometimes a burner module can go faulty and refuse to switch off as yours did, rare as it is, Carver though thought of it and installed the 'fusible plug'. This simple devices only function is to wait until the water gets to hot and then it melts allowing hot water to burst from the tank over the burner which is then 100% guaranteed to put it out. My question then is what's happened to it? why did it not do it's job What it all adds up to is I can overhaul your water heater but your whole system needs looking at first to see that everything else is in order. To my mind when you think you have switched the gas off then you should be safe in the knowledge you have and not apparently find something is still connected and lit!! ___________________ website: http://www.arcsystems.biz email: [Log in to view email] If you want to join the 'CARVER QUESTIONS' discussion and ask a new question, click on any 'reply to this message' within that discussion and your question will then appear on the last page.
Many thanks Dave
It is the model with the vertical row of lights on the wall switch. Green at the top, then below it one for low battery, and then at the bottom a light for flame failure. The caravan is a 1999 model. When switching on, green comes on closely followed by the flame failure. Sufficient gas in bottle, but I know that air in the pipes is also a common cause. After switching it off and on quite a number of times it eventually stays lit and heats. Trouble is, next day, with no interuption to the gas supply, its the same lengthy repeated on/off routine to get it lit again. Does something need cleaning maybe, could the burner be dirty from lack of use? We use the caravan very regularly, at least once a month all year round, but as I said, mainly on electric. Any suggestions?
Anyway from your point of view it needs replacing or put up with it until it packs up altogether ___________________ website: http://www.arcsystems.biz email: [Log in to view email] If you want to join the 'CARVER QUESTIONS' discussion and ask a new question, click on any 'reply to this message' within that discussion and your question will then appear on the last page.

I have been costuming for the charity for the last 5 years and have worked with most of the original cast members and been on stage with George Lucas, I even got a week in China promoting Star Wars video games!! I originally built the costume and completed the Great North run in it but nearly killed myself so I had to find easier ways to fundraise!
