Has anyone got any operating instructions on a Carver 4000 Fanmaster please? Its fitted on a 1999 Elddis Tyhoon XL if that helps at all. The fire itself has got a switch on it which looks like it moves in 4 or 5 different positions but i'm not sure what does what? Would appreciate a diagram or some info please. Thanks very much. Hope someone can help!

First position with the front slider is fan only and the back slider controls the speed of the fan.
second is 1kw heat only
third is 1kw and up to half fan
forth is 2kw and up to full fan

2,3 and 4, back slider controls temperature, fan speed is automatic on 3 and 4

The Fanmaster 2000 manual on my website is a similar fire to yours except the gas heat output is about half the 4000/5500, there is no difference at all between the 4000 and 5500 bar the badge!

Mouldy, it does not matter if the 'new one' has one or two electrodes so that's not the problem, is it new or what?
Which fuse is blowing? positive or negative?

I'd first check connections to the control switch and from their to the module.

Not as big a star as Leo Sayer but does he still count as pop?! or should you be Classic Lover??

As for your question you will need to contact Explorer or the owners club perhaps?.
The problem is Zig make control panels but Explorer decide which switch does what, I can say Zig normally include a car/van switch

Sorry Pop Lover, quite similar from a distance though, but no, far from before my time, I watched him come and go.
A fan actually after Universal Soldier! whoops sorry no that was Donavan but what about Pete Frampton or Ely Stone?

Hi All
Help required
I Have an Avondale LANDRANGER 6400 fitted with a Carver Fanmaster
When I switch the control to on regardless of what position the little red lights start to flash but remain flashing and the fan fails to switch on.
Is there anywhere that I can obtain a circuit diagram for the control circuit board on the unit itself.
I have checked for inputs and outputs and there is no 12 volts output for the fan motor. but there is 12 volts at the input side to the board.
Any thoughts please.
Regards

Les

Re; Fanmaster 4000. I've been testing out my Fanmaster today and followed the instructions as per the manual. The thing is when it is set to the blown air side (warm) it doesn't appear to blow any warm air as such, only the tiniest amount. Is that the way it's supposed to be or is it suppose to knock out a really decent amount of warm air if you follow my meaning? I'm almost sure that on my 1995 Abbey Cachet the blown air system knocked out a fair bit of heat should you have needed it. By the way i did leave the system on a fair while and it still didn't make any difference. Can someone help me please? Thanks.

Hi. Am new to these carver carscade 2 water heaters. Mine works fine on mains - guess the immersion is ok. But on gas it attempts to light - get about 8 clicking noises and then get red light up as well as green. Am sure this has been asked before so appologies but is there anything I can look at to check? Also live in Newark and was wondering what price repair/exchange? Thanks. Paul - can supply e-mail if you wish.

hi Gary,It was brand new,And it is the fuse on the right as you look at the switch that has blown i changed it just in case it had blown because of overstrain with the old burner but it blows instantly.....The switch hasn`t been touched before or after burner change apart from switching on and of or to change fuse.....and the burner only has 1xplug that plugs in the one way as you are aware........I will check all connections and see as you advised............Many thanks.........

Please can you help,
We've just brought a 1990 caravan with a Carver Cascade 2 Gas Water Heater. (Don't know when it was last used but brought from dealer so presume was drained over last winter).
OK... I've followed the instructions, got it plugged into my 240v at home and also have a 85amp battery with Swift Transformer/charger Unit KT/TX in situ (have leak tested by pressing T switch and then resetting main switch) and ensured that no air in gas line by lighting a ring on the gas hob (full gas bottle). Water full and pressure fine both in kitchen sink and bathroom sink both cold and hot taps. Ran for at least 2 gallons so presume that heater is full of water. As soon as I switch on the Cascade 2 system the water comes through fine in bathroom (but only warm) and when I close that tap and open the kitchen tap, it comes out warm but then the flow fades after about 12 secs to a mere drip. I turn off the hot and turn on the cold & get a good flow, turn off the cold and turn on the hot, again good flow but then fades. The green light comes on a stays on and pump working fine.
Please can you throw some light on this for me?
Many thanks & I look forward to your reply.

Les, slow flashing control switch light is first due to low battery voltage, poor connection from switch to control board, fault on control board or switch.
The problem is probably with the main control board although to be sure 12v must be present on the board while under load, this is to ensure there is not a problem with the control switch.
The only real reason for the main board to go down is a worn fan motor so that will also need replacing.
A switch fault can be for the same reason or an earth fault elsewhere tracking to earth through the switch.

Personally I don't give circuit schematics out, basically because I don't have any!

Gilbert, first, although the same output it should work better than your old mk1 Fanmaster.
How does it work on maximum? have I mentioned to make sure the mains 'kettle plug' is fully in on the control box on the back of the fire?
