Wyn.
On Propane at 37mb it burns 239 grams per hour giving 3.3kw heat output so 25.55 hrs running on butane and almost the same 25.1hrs on propane, you did well to get two days then!!

We have recently bought a 1989 Abbey caravan. It is our first go at caravaning and we have a few problems in getting things going with the heater. The control panel which has a switch and a dial says 'Caravelle 4' on it. The heater which sticks out through the bottom of the caravan says 'Carver' on it and has a switch at the bottom right which when switched up blows air quietly and when switched down blows air more loudly but neither produce heat. When I switch on the 'Caravelle 4' the green light comes on, the heater tries to ignite, there is a sound like it has ignited, but then shuts off very quickly afterwards. It seems to have several goes at igniting and then the green light just flashes. Having read some of the other posts it seems like it is a common problem. We do not have a manual and would be very grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction as it is quite chilly in there at the moment and the children are desparate to eat diner in there tonight (even though it is sitting on the drive!)

I have a Trumatic s3002 space heater, which I think is also sold as a carver 3000. I has recently developed a fault. After lighting the burner the Piezo ignition stays on IE continues to spark after I have released the button. I have checked the connections that I can get to and the unit by the regulator that seems to operate the ignition seems to be moving freely. Can anyone tell me where the fault lies and how to fix it? Thanks John
If not get back to me.

Yes though the current Truma 3002 was indeed re-badged in the early 90's as the Carver 3000 and before that the SPL3002 right back into the late 70's The spark is switched electronically so the problem is with the electronic control within the ignition module that contains the battery/batteries, or a connection to it After that then faulty electronics are likely to be the problem, but see if you can buy a new module locally on 'sale or return' or borrow one maybe? so you can test the system because cheap they ain't!! Worst comes to the worst, you can always take the battery out or add a switch maybe?

I'm on holiday on Thursday until the 16th of March, while I'm away I'm going to try and source a reasonably priced supply of new elements, all going well this will solve this problem once and for all.

Many thanks for your help on the SBE1800. It all works now - although sadly the hairdryer attachement is nowhere to be found! I have one other little probelm in that the drain off plug on the outside of the Cascade 2 water heater is completely sealed in their. Is the best thing just to drill it out and put another one in there? Many thanks Richard
many thanks
