Hi Gary,

Still looking for the fault causing my fan to only run slowly.
Took out the loom between switch and fan pcb, checked continuity and for good connections, all appeared ok. Ran it before putting pcb and fan cover back - still slow and noticed that component on pcb was very hot, burnt my finger in fact. Thin grey 'resistory thing' .Should it be that hot? If it needs a new pcb, are you able to supply one.

Regards, Peter

Yes Peter it should get hot, it's absorbing amperage/energy so by getting hot is slowing the motor down, however this should depend on the three legged component on the board which in turn is controlled by the switch.
I've a feeling it will be this transistor that's failed in the 'slow' position and needs replacing.
One other possibility is the fan motor is faulty, try putting 12v direct to it to test.

Roy, what model number is your fridge? RMxxx, or, has it got a thermostat for the gas side? or three positions for the gas flame on the control knob?

Frank and Joe, don't normally give prices on the forum because they go out of date, but to save time the reset kit is £23.50 inclusive.

Further as my websites been hacked I'll give the address here so you know where to send the cheque made to 'Arc Systems' ready for my return

13 Far Street, Bradmore, Nottingham, NG11 6PF.

I'm not there but someone always is

Hi Gary,

I meant to ask you if I could try putting 12v direct to the fan ,to check it out. Will do this tomorrow and if ok, will order a new pcb.
Are you able to supply one,as it would only be fair to you.

Regards, Peter.

Gary,

Just a message to thank you for your expert advice.

Have changed the fan pcb and all working correctly.

Away for a few weeks, from mid March, but on return will be looking to improve the 240v heating by getting a remote sensor, possibly up dating
the relays, so will be in touch.

Thanks again, Peter

Stewart, someone is taking the mick! a module brand new can be expensive at anything up to £125 but it takes under 5 minutes to fit!!

If you do feel like fitting one of my serviced exchange modules yourself, (being designed to 'self fit' it is very straight forward), you will then save about 2/3rds of that £196.
If not and you tell the area you live, I might also be able to suggest someone local to do it for you for a reasonable fee.

I'm not surprised you are concerned about forking out £400 for a new fire!?

The Carver 3002 is a re-badged Truma 3002, they are then one in the same fire!! all your fire needs (should it actually need them) is a new pair of jets.

I've got a bag full of new Carver/Truma 3002 jets but my concern is it's does not need them and something else is amiss?

I'm wondering if in fact the 'gauze' on the top of the main burner is loose and lifting when it gets hot, this will cause the flame pattern to be erratic same as if the jet was at fault?
Or simple a partly blocked gas/air inlet tube inside the burner if the flame is yellow

I can supply the jets when I return, but, I don't for one second think they will cure your problem by themselves let alone overhaul it!!

Hi
New here but looks like the best place for my question. I have a Carver 2000P Space Heater missing the connecting rod from the control knob. I am not sure if there is a cable missing also Please see my photo.
Any advise and where I could get the parts would be great. I have the bottom piece (controller) but its not in the pic.

I have plenty of the steel rods that connect the piezo holder to control knob, what I don't have is the holder itself.

Two wires are required, one from piezo to burner for spark, the other is an earth wire from the bottom of the holder to one of the 8mm brass nuts that hold the silver coloured support bracket.

Thanks Gary
How do I get my hands on one of these rods? Ihave the holder, I think. The missing rod goes in the top and the bottom rod out of the holder goes into the baseblate where I take it the main gas control is?

Cheers
N
