I shall presume you are replying to me "butonsmum" yes the 240V is all hooked up and the blower is blowing but not warm. Everything is on as it would be when we are on site but without the hot water which as far as I am aware doesnt affect the fan master.Lindsey

Hi buttonsmum have you tried the reset button which i think is at the back of the fire its not actually a button you press its like a flap of plastic on the side of the fire the bit that sticks out in the wardrobe area. other than that garys yer man he's the wizard on these things cheers Stan.

Hi Gary, My carver cascade water heater leaks from the pressure relief valve (white top left hand side thingy) every time the water is heating up on gas or electric. Does this mean that the pressure is too high in the system? Can you advise please? Regards Peter

Hi StanJust pulled a muscle in my neck trying to see if there was a reset button. No luck I am afraid. The unit is encased inside a box in the wardrobe and there are no visible buttons or flaps or anything. Am just going to wait to see if Gary can give me a hint I have a nasty suspicion that this could be expensive! Thanks any way Lindsey

Hi Gary, fusible plug arrived today thanks. I have fitted this and checked the module and switch by playing with the din plug, I get a tick of the spark and a hear the valve opening and closing however occasionally (30%) the valve does not close, if I tap the switch it then closes. I presume the answer is a new switch. It looks as though the unit has been changed before as the Hi-Lo marks are on the heater casting but the red wheel is missing. I presume on the Carver Cascade 2 GE that the two modes of operating are independant and that the fusible plug only protects the gas side, so I will be ok operating on 240v now it hold water.

Gary, glad you got it in time but your wrong about the switch, that's not what's stopping the gas valve shutting as it should. The gas valve is sticking partly open which is why your fuse blew, nothing to do with the switch. Solution is a replacement module, in the meantime yes the electric heating side has it's own thermostats and you can use that

Peter, it certainly is not normal, it blows off at 50psi which is way above the correct 20-25psi pressure?!Either, some ones changed the pump and it's pressure needs turning down, or have you checked the valve to see exactly where it's leaking from? generally they crack at their base and leak under normal pressure from there.

Graham, the most common problem is a sticking non-return valve, this is part of the cold water inlet fitting to the heater. From what you say though I'm not sure if this is your problem? but it's a good place to start

Hi Gary,Thanks for your reply. I did fit a new 20 PSI shurflow pump some time ago as that is what was in it when I bought the van. Maybe I should look for a lower pressure pump then! According to the information sheet it is not possible to alter the pressure. The valve is not leaking from the base but coming from around the small knob at the end. In the meantime is it safe to use if I turn the heater off when water has warmed up?Thanks Peter

Hi Gary,my heater has he same problem I think..no water coming out of the hot tap...the boiler is getting hot and splutters air out of the tap at first but no water.. You mentioned an o ring in a previous post when we drained the system one came out of the drain albeit in a rotted condition.. We bought the 1996 Bailey Beachcomber privately and the guy said everything was working ...nope the carver 1800 fire is bust the knob is all loose and waggles about...the fridge only works on mains not gas or battery..but there again the battery is U/S so probably the reason why..Any help would be appeciated...We only got the van this week and am considering legal action against the bent bugger that sold it me...

Fridge won't work on the caravan battery, it only works on this setting when connected to a tow car, & the engines running. May be a silly question, but you have turned on the gas valve for the fridge? Mine was hidden, & hard to find. The knob on my carver 1800 also comes loose easily, just a case of pulling the front panel of, then refitting. Hope this helps for now, I'm sure the expert will be along shortly with more advice....
