Nathan, not sure why you think Vailliant spells Carver?! but I do know a little about them, least I know how to spell it? 'I' before two L's LOLBasically it was correct in the first place, what you should do is adjust the water temperature with the flow valve on the front of the heater, the more water you let through the valve the faster it goes through the heat exchanger and the less it heats up. Not sure but I think Vailliant also have high and low flame settings, which of course should be set to low If you have already tried this and you cannot get it cool enough on full flow, then the pumps not powerful enough. As always with Instantaneous type water heaters, they are now banned in confined spaces such as your motorhome. OK if it's already fitted before the ban to continue, but, it should be regularly professionally checked to make sure it's safe. The general problem is the pilot light, this must be blue with no sign of yellow in the flame, yellow is carbon monoxide and if it builds up while your asleep you won't be waking up!!

Hi, I wonder if you could help me, I have a Elddis Crusader Storm 1999, And it has a carver cascade 2 water heater in it I can get it to work on gas, I know it should work on mains electric. The mains switch red light comes on and the fuse is ok. The reset switch has not jumped out, I cannot find anymore switches or fuses, but it still does not work. I have read that there should be a switch next to the heater, but cannot find one. Could you tell me the possible problem with it. Many thanks.

Carver Fanmaster, circa 1997, which is date of caravan manufacture. Volts; 23C a.c-50Hz with 12DC motor Watts; 1830w on heater, 16w on motor. Fuse rating 10amp on heater, 5amp on motor. serial no. 00047512. Horrible noise on fan, then worked for a short time, then no output on fan at all. Stripped fan housing, considerable evidence of copper/brass residue on back of fan retainer. Is it fan motor in an educated guess? If so, where can I pick up a replacement as I have exhausted listed sources from hand book!! All other functions work, but have minimised!!!! The fan did spin free and easy when done by hand!!

Hello Gary, Just a quick question about my cascade 2 which has probably been answered in some form or other on this forum. The red light is coming on after about 8 seconds on the control panel of the water heater. Having checked it out the only problem i see is no spark as it works fine when i light it manually. Does this mean i need a complete new module or is there a simple way to fix the ignitor. Thanks for any help. G

Pixie, there is only one simple switch to control the electic water heating, if the lights on it is supplying 240v to the element. If no heating and you have already checked the over temperature thermostat reset button is in, then either the normal temperature thermostat is stuck in the off position or the element has failed.

Swallow, very common problem, the fan motor is worn out and needs replacing. Normally worn motors will cause the main control board to fail, or at least strain the components so leaving it in a weak condition, it's also quite possible to overload the control switch and this will also need repair. So yes I have new motors in stock and you can contact me direct about getting one, however it's quite possible further damage has been done

Graham, it depends on the exact batch of burner module you have as to why there is no spark, they all have their different little quirks!Regardless though, I don't supply spares, only complete serviced exchange modules

Hi, we have a Carver Fanmaster 4000 heater that works fine on gas but when I use electric only it blows cold air only. Any help on what I can do to sort this myself would be appreciated if it is an easy fix or do I need an engineer out to pull it to bits. Thanks Fiona

Can anyone help me. I have an Avondale caravan circa 1991 with a Cascade 2 gas water heater. I can't get it to work at all. No lights on switch. On checking there seems to be power to the switch, power through the fuses but only part power to the din socket, but nothing coming out. Consequently no lights and no gas( although the gas supply is connected).

Hi i have just bought but not yet recieved a carver cascade2 water heater off ebay, and was wondering if there is anything to check before i install this unit ,or if any one reconditions them,i have read about the heaters and they seem an ok unit, any advice would be very helpful , up to now i have orderd a pressure releaf valve ,a drain off plug with new o ring ,a new inlet with non return valve,,best wishes Brian, can i just ask a quick question, that will tell me how stupid i have been ,is this legal please see video , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihNlopOiyx8 i saw an advert on ebay which said excelamerica offer instantantaineuse gas water heaters for campervans and motorhomes that had passed loads of requirments ,had no pilot light ,and the list went on ,so i orderd one from america ,and being a heating engineer fitted it ,and it was brilliant ,it gave as much water as you wanted, was safe ,it would cut out if there were a problem and it was flueless ,i fitted two carbon monoxide monitors and there were no problems ,and it worked like a dream, then a read your comments about this kind of boiler ,and began to worry ,so i have now bought a carver cascade 2 water heater, so i can sleep easy at night, just thought i would post it here and see if what i had done was ilegal and dangerouse ,best wishes Brian

Hi Gary. I have a problem with the Carver P4 blown Air Heater in my camper. It runs fine producing lots of hot air, but when I turn it off it goes into a cycle where the fan runs for a sec and then stops for 2 to 3 secs and then runs again. It does this for ever, long after the heater has cooled down, the only way to stop it is to power it down. Can you help please. Andy

Gary, we have a Carver Fanmaster 4000 heater that works fine on gas but when I use electric only it blows cold air only. I have been trying to get my head around the installation box/documentation we have and I have found at the back of the installation box a plug that is not plugged in. It is the one that you can see in Fig 19 of the carver installation diagrams. Unfortunately the diagram shows an arrow as if to pull it out, but is that only if u use a 12v supply. Can u confirm that this needs to be plugged in if I want the heating element to work on mains. Thks Fiona
