I have checked my fire and it is the 1800
Here>>> http://www.arcsystems.biz If you still have problems ring me 0115 9213175
When I turn on my mk 2 cascade water heater there is a big bang as if there is too much gass been feed to it...This happens almost 75% of the time..the other 25% it will light ok..At first I thought it was the wind blowing out the flame but I sheltered it ,to no avail. The igniter will click for no reason even when the flame is lit ( I say the flame is lit because there is heat from the vent outside) after the clicking stops the flame goes out and the red light comes on..Can you help please..
These are £63 serviced exchange from me and sent on receipt of cheque to Arc Systems. There are two types of drain bung, early pre June 1987 has a cross for the screwdriver and the later one has just a single slot. Both are £6.50
My local dealer cannot source a drain plug(cross head) or fanmaster sliding control as they are no longer listed in truma or wholesaler catalogues. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks
Seems strange though you have a pre June 87 water heater and a post 97 fire??
cheers for the advice . Could you provide me with the address to post the cheque of to and who to pay it to...does the £63 include postage..??and if I remember rightlyfrom previuos threads, you want the old module back..?? no problem.. could you also send me 2 drain bungs..(pre june 87..cross for screwdriver)..like to have a spare..!!!! Let me know the total for the 2 bungs and the burner module + p&p. Would also like details of how to remove and replace module please....does unit need resealed to caravan on outside ?? if so what is best stuff to use..?? thanks again Finbar... ps cheque is waiting to be written and posted
The cost of ONE drain bung is £6.50 and you are only getting ONE...don't be greedy Gary P.S a drain bung to have as a spare can be obtained from any plumbers merchants that sell radiators? the plastic bungs in the ends of radiators that are discarded fit the threads of pre 87 drains and work reasonably well.
Many thanks
cheque is on its way to you... look forward to getting this damn thing fixed.. Adverts Currently On Preloved - Place an ad here for free
Orange will be in flashes above the burner but if you look just on top of the burner the flame should be bright blue, it should also settle down and most of the orange disappear quite quickly. Yellow will be in long lazy flames perhaps blue at the base but not tight and dancing purposely on the burner top as a correct flame should be. Orange should clear itself while if yellow the fire will need immediate attention.
my autosleeper has a carver 2ge which has suddenly sprung a leak. It switches on ok but after a few minutes cold water starts to drip from the drain hole in the fibreglass tray under the heater. If you turn the heater off the drip stops, the pump is off and if you leave it a while the water gets hot, I have taken the cowl off but there is no sign of water anywhere! Any clues anyone?
"after a few minutes cold water starts to drip from the drain hole in the fibreglass tray under the heater". Where? "If you turn the heater off the drip stops, the pump is off and if you leave it a while the water gets hot", It cannot get hot if it's switched off?? "I have taken the cowl off but there is no sign of water anywhere! Any clues anyone?" There are plenty of places for it to leak inside, From both water inlet and outlet fittings, the tank seal or a corroded tank and bolts holding the electrical element corroding and allowing this seal to leak.
What I think you will find is the gas burner is in a very poor state and the gas is not being completely burnt, this smell may well be accompanied by black smoke and soot...it will also include Carbon Monoxide?? You will need to remove the outer plastic cover and the inner alloy plate to expose the burner and watch what happens while it is lit. This should be done on a calm day or at least protect the burner from any wind, it's also useful to do it late in the day when the light is fading so as to see more clearly. If you are in any doubt though get an expert to check it for you and either way DO NOT use it until the problem is solved as the possibility of Carbon Monoxide getting in the van is deadly!!
Thanks Bob
