Ahh, its 'that' relay you are talking about?, this means the switch is faulty although I would have thought you would see the green lit dimly while the 'on' button is pressed. What really surprise me is this type switch is in the same caravan as the Harmony charger, I thought the charger manufacturer was long gone before this switch came out?...does it say 'Carver' on the switch?? You should be able to get one of this type switch from most dealers provided yours has Carver written on it.

Hi Gary Thanks for sending me the pressure valve replacement and the bung. I have tried to call you but have no luck and have left a message but had no reply but then no doubt you are a very busy guy. The bung you have sent is the wrong one the one I need has the cross head on it. I have tried to remove the heat valve but cant seem to find a tool that will do it, as the space is restricted can you suggest what I should try, or is there a knack to removing this, also the water leak I have looks as if it is actually coming from the part that is put inside this not the actual main body, so could it just be that part I need to replace. Susan

And how did I know you had used an extractor Roy? It's not so much strength that broke it but the fact an extractor will wind into the remains of the plastic fitting and expand it and expand it and ex...without a hope in hell of doing the job you intended, but then without warning bursts out of the cast aluminium boss! the reason I know... it happens a lot!!

Davy, the hidden control switch under the bunk is powered from the switch in the control panel so 'must' go out when the lead to this is removed. If it goes out by unplugging this lead then I would expect this switch is faulty or wired wrong. If it doesn't then I am at a bit of a loss however.. This system is slightly more complicated by two different hidden control panel pcb's being used some with their own on/off switch and some without. The one 'with' also has a connection for 12 volts which should not be used in this situation again because the 12 volts comes from the switch in the control panel. Put simply though the problem is it is permanantly powered when it shouldn't be and you need to find out why! Ring if you need more info Gary 0115 9213175

First of all hi and thanks for the help Gary. Now when I unplug the switch under the bunk the light goes out I also took the switch to try in my mates caravan, his was wired slightly differently. He just had two wires going to two grubscrews whereas mine had four wires going to a plug that pushed onto the switch circuit board, his worked with my switch.

Then it has to be the switch on the main control panel causing the problem, of the four wires two are 12 volt pos and neg from the switch and the other two are signal wires powered by the burner module. These are looped through the hidden control switch back to the red and yellow LED's by the side of the switch in the panel. You may be able to prise the switch out the panel as it is only clipped in position and this will save you taking the whole panel out..nightmare!!!

Hi GaryThe story so far. The brown switch under the bunk bed has a green light that stays on even when the switch is turned off or on. I took it to my mates to try on his but the wiring going onto the circuit board was different, his had two wires going to two grub screws, mine has a white plug with four wires on it. When fitted to his it worked alright ie the green light went off when switched off. When I disconnected the white plug with the four wires on the light does go off. I have taken the inside wardrobe wall out as the switch seemed reluctant to come out from the front but I can`t see anything that looks wrong. So the next step will be to get a circuit diagram and check voltages with a tester. Is there somewhere on this site I can download a workshop manual or proper instructions which would be better than this little booklet that comes with the caravan. Davy.

This is very confusing, the switch on the control baord has three pairs of connections with the centre pair being 12v+ and 12v-, this pair are inturn connected to two of the pins from the panel switch and also to where your mates 12volt wires would go. Now often this switch on the control board because it is not needed is not there, so the circuit board tracks pass through the switch position without a break. When a switch is fitted the track must be removed between to pairs of pins or the switch would have no function. I say all this to tell you as much as I know because I am running out of ideas!!

I have a 1989 truma water heater. It sparks when the green light comes on but the gas valve doesn't open (no clunk at the start, no smell of unburnt gas), then the red light comes on... Would it even spark if any of the safety mechanisms were at fault ? I disconnected the gas, unbolted the gas valve electromagnet and switched on with one volt meter probe inside and one on the tank, but it still showed 0 volts when the green light was on My guess is that is could be the circuit board at fault, but are there any more checks I could do ?
