The last problem you mention could be a crack on one of the three soldered joints to the temp control pot on the back of the circuit board. P.S. This is the 500th post in just 53 weeks

My 1993 Lunar Clubman has a Carver 3000 heater with a blown air pack (the wall switch has the two position switch on the wall). I've only used the fire once, it lit near enough first time and was fine. However I tried to use it last week and the damn thing won't light now. I've taken the front panel off, and there IS a spark down in the burner. I've also checked and yes, there's gas getting through. If I hold the control button down and try to light the fire, I get a spark but no lighting up. If I release the control knob, then press the ignition switch (it's manual ignition, not electronic), then all the gas in the burner area ignites in a fast burst and goes out. Any ideas what I can do to get this going properly, what I need to try / clean / repair / swear at ? Any suggestions VERY gratefully received (it was DAMN cold in Scotland last week !!) Thanks, Lee.
Thanks for reply...i will try it................but since then i have found a very good site which gives you fault finding and all diograms of the carver heater and also if any one needs fault finding on the thetford toilet that is there as well with all diograms..........so just click and look your self ok !!! Many thanks http://www.stowford.co.uk/faultfinder/index2.asp
The problem with this type of fault is I need to see what is happening because lighting or not lighting is only part of the problem. The good news is the Carver 3000 is in fact a Truma 3002 so spares are not a problem. ___________________ website: http://www.arcsystems.biz email: [Log in to view email] If you want to add your own question, just click on any 'reply to this message'
As I said water will get into the module from wherever it leaks from and that's going to stop that working. The water flow from the taps is to do with the cold water inlet non-return valve sticking or the narrow passage way into the tank being blocked. ___________________ website: http://www.arcsystems.biz email: [Log in to view email] If you want to add your own question, just click on any 'reply to this message'
The problem I always find though is faults due to age are never covered in manuals?. ___________________ website: http://www.arcsystems.biz email: [Log in to view email] If you want to add your own question, just click on any 'reply to this message'
Theres a lot who would scratch their chin with doom and gloom then make a packet out of our inexperience. Many thanks C K X X
We too have just had the same problem. We notice that your post was in July so we were wondering did you sort it out and if so...how? Regards Mark
As you see all new questions get tagged onto the bottom of the last page so if you want to refer to an earlier Q or A then copy and paste it into your question. By the way...what is your problem? ___________________ website: http://www.arcsystems.biz email: [Log in to view email] If you want to add your own question, just click on any 'reply to this message'

The problem is , the carver 2 water heater was leaking and upon inspection, the plastic thing on the top left of the heater looking at it from outside snapped off leaving the thread inside. I tried a thread remover to no avail. It cracked the thread casing slightly. Can you help? Regards Mark
the water heater is the first one. the elctric heating doesnt seem to do anything at all. on gas it is showing green but the wter from the tap comes out as a bit of hot then a load of cold, then a bit of hot etc. the heater (carver 3000) heats itself up to toasting but isnt blowing any air. the switch has a circle, a coloured in circle and an 'a' on it but i cant work out what they mean...any help appreciated! claire:-}
Problem now is the casting needs welding and that is not cheap but I have a small stock of repaired ones for exchange in these circumstances. If you want to ring me we can discuss the options...numbers are on my website link below Gary ___________________ website: http://www.arcsystems.biz email: [Log in to view email] If you want to add your own question, just click on any 'reply to this message'
I got my apprentice! to answer your question there about the fan control...so that ones out the way. First things first, the problem with the flow of water from the water heater is a blockage in or with the cold water inlet in the bottom right corner looking from inside the van. Re the green light on all the time on the under seat switch, the light was ment to be on all the time as it was a permenent live the caravan had a heater swith on the wall panel so that was one to look at. Saying this the under seat switch needed replacing and the gas boiler was also broken it cost 90.00 to fix the two. Hope this helps mate . Davy.
Please could you tell me how to remove the casting which I cracked yesterday, and what too;s I will need as the caravan is in storage. Is it easy? Thanks Mark
Next using two broad bladed screwdrivers and starting at the bottom prise the flange away from the van being careful not to damage the vans skin, once you have it moving use a craft knife or similar dipped in white spirit to cut though the sealant if need be. When free pull it out so you can take off the water connections, best way is to cut them and leave a fresh pipe end when putting back. It can also be easier to leave the mains connection till now as well. Finally the 12 volt connection can be unplugged and the unit removed. My record on a wet day is 7minutes...see how you do!! ___________________ website: http://www.arcsystems.biz email: [Log in to view email] If you want to add your own question, just click on any 'reply to this message'
