Hi there,

Previously I placed an after market radio into my '93 zx and took the original ?Clarion? radio out. Since then some of the features on the after market has died so I've decided to put the original back in.

I thought I'd kept the code in the box i put the old radio in but that seems to have disappeared.

The details I have for the old stereo are:
BP1760P6570629
7 641 760 394

A code I've come up with from a program I have is 1257 but that doesn't unlock it, any one got any ideas?

Thanks in advanced for any assistance!

Edd

Lightingupuk-

That's a Blaupunkt serial number. Assuming it is a Citroen badged Blaupunkt, the code should be 5868, 1868, or 0241.

The code you quote is from a Clarion code calculator that doesn't even work on Clarions.

Leigh-AnneT-

You will have to remove the radio from the dashboard to find the serial number.

General info on radio codes-

Citroen don't make radios, they just put their brand on radios made by others. Don't bother posting the model of your car. No one can figure out what your radio code is from that. Radios are coded individually. Codes only work for the one radio, not for all the radios of that make or model. To find out the code you need the serial number. Not the model number or the part number. As there are several numbers on a radio, you should probably post them all to make sure the right one is included.

Blaupunkt radio codes can usually be derived from the serial number by software, but NOT radios made by Grundig, Clarion, or Philips. These have to be looked up by someone that has access to the database. It is better to get your Citroen dealer to look up the code than go to the online decoding sites. Some dealers charge for this service, maybe as much as an online decoding company, but your chance of come-back is better if it doesn't work. Blaupunkt serial numbers begin with BP. Clarions usually begin with CL. Grundigs begin with GR. If you don't have a BP number, you will not get a code here.

All of this information and much more has been posted here many times. Read the existing messages before posting your own "unique" plea for help.

have read alot of the messages posted.
i have a citroen relay van, new battery fitted, cant find radio code, main dealer in hand book closed, will try local dealer monday when open.
the van is a 52 plate, the rodio code is bp037323209404 (no leter in middle) the code has to be 4 numbers between 1 and 6 according to booklet instruction, i have used several different combinations of numbers in the bp code calc prog but always get didgets that include 0 or numbers greater than 6

The serial number is odd. Maybe this one is too modern for the code calculator. Do you know the model number of the radio? The "booklet instruction" doesn't match any model I know about. Most use multiple presses on a preset key to cycle through the digits 0 to 9 for each code digit, rather than a press on a numbered key, for instance:

Blaupunkt Citroen PF1(A) Citroen code entry instructions-
(very similar for PF1(B) and RDS models)

Turn on radio, the display will show "COD" (or CODE)

Press preset [1] repeatedly for the first digit (blank for zero)
Press preset [2] repeatedly for the second digit
Press preset [3] repeatedly for the third digit
Press preset [4] repeatedly for the fourth digit

Finally press the [station +] button to save (or station ^)
(from http://radio-code.co.uk)

Hi people!

I started my car (Citreon ZX) this morning and found that the radio was prompting for a code - first time this has happened to me - assume there was a problem with battery overnight or this morning?!? Car previously belonged to my dad and checked with him to see if he still had the code - no joy - but he did mention this had happened before and that unfortunately he could not remember how he got it fixed. Anyway a quick search on the web turned up this helpful site so was hoping someone could help with potential codes - before I go down more official channels?

Serial number of stereo is BP1760T7831434/7641 760 394

Many thanks in advance
Michael
