Sami-

Only one code will be right for any radio. The reason I give three (or sometimes two) is that the calculator I have has three different algorithms for Citroen branded Blaupunkt radios, as well as a dozen more for models fitted to other cars.

The ---- display usually means that the radio is locked from too many attempts at guessing the code. If you leave it turned on for an hour it should clear to display COD or CODE, and then you can put in the code.

General info on radio codes-

Citroen don't make radios, they just put their brand on radios made by others. Don't bother posting the model of your car. No one can figure out what your radio code is from that. Radios are coded individually. Codes only work for the one radio, not for all the radios of that make or model. To find out the code you need the serial number. Not the model number or the part number. As there are several numbers on a radio, you should probably post them all to make sure the right one is included.

Blaupunkt radio codes can usually be derived from the serial number by software, but NOT radios made by Grundig, Clarion, or Philips. These have to be looked up by someone that has access to the database. It is better to get your Citroen dealer to look up the code than go to the online decoding sites. Some dealers charge for this service, maybe as much as an online decoding company, but your chance of come-back is better if it doesn't work. Blaupunkt serial numbers begin with BP. Clarions usually begin with CL. Grundigs begin with GR. If you don't have a BP number, you will not get a code here.

All of this information and much more has been posted here many times. Read the existing messages before posting your own "unique" plea for help.

Help wanted. I have has some work done on my Saxo which involved disconnecting the battery and now my radio is asking for a code. I do not have it as when I bought the car the radio was working. I can't see a make of the radio so I suspect is the standard fitted make.
Anyone any ideas without me removing the radio and all that performance.

I repeatedly post a general advice that includes the information that codes for serial numbers beginning with CL are NOT AVAILABLE here. Why does no one read the forum before posting?

I have a Xantia with a 2030 radio and I know the code (it's 1542).
It would sometimes ask for the code every few days and it would be fine. However a child entered it wrong 3 times so it's frozen on the last entry. The manual says it would accept more codes after 2 hours however after a few days pressing the BAND nothing in doesn't refresh the code entry. I've disconnected the battery for a while too.

Any ideas before I burn the car? lol

Thanks

T-

When a radio is locked because of too many wrong code entries, it will usually clear and allow a new code entry if it is left turned on for an hour (in your case, maybe two). "Turned on" means powered up, with the ignition on. I assume that you aren't leaving it turned on for "a few days".

If this doesn't work on yours, perhaps there is a problem with the power connections. There are at least two, one in the background to keep the code alive. It sounds a bit like this last one may be intermittent, causing a spurious code request every so often.
