General info on radio codes-

Citroen don't make radios, they just put their brand on radios made by others. Don't bother posting the model of your car. No one can figure out what your radio code is from that. Radios are coded individually. Codes only work for the one radio, not for all the radios of that make or model. To find out the code you need the serial number. Not the model number or the part number. As there are several numbers on a radio, you should probably post them all to make sure the right one is included.

You will need to remove the radio from the dash to get the serial number, and probably to find out what make and model it is. Instructions for removing your radio, by model of car, can be had for free here:

http://www.fitaudio.com/

Blaupunkt radio codes can usually be derived from the serial number by software, but NOT radios made by Grundig, Clarion, or Philips. These have to be looked up by someone that has access to the database. It is better to get your Citroen dealer to look up the code than go to the online decoding sites. Some dealers charge for this service, maybe as much as an online decoding company, but your chance of come-back is better if it doesn't work. Blaupunkt serial numbers begin with BP. Clarions usually begin with CL. Grundigs begin with GR. Phillips begin with PH. If you don't have a BP number, you will not get a code here.

Repeat- Codes can be calculated for Blaupunkt radios with serial numbers starting with "BP". Other makes with "CL", "GR", "PH" and so on, no, sorry.

You have to quote the MAKE and MODEL of the radio plus ALL the SERIAL NUMBERS found on the casing

Why does no one read before posting? It is the minimum requirement for courtesy on any forum, and would in fact help them with their problem.

Apologies no offense was meant to be caused from this "question" and someone asking for help on a forum. If google directs you to a website rather than the home page with all the instructions listed there are going to omissions and errors listed.

I was delighted with the help and pleasant nature I had received on this website in such a short space of time - until now. Its a shame one person can cause a sour taste in the mouth for the rest of us. I don't recall seeing any help in response to the question - just a plain rude remark. Surely not what this forum is designed for?!
