If you are using the software I think you are, then you should only be entering the number 7607540312 (ignore the BP and the first digit, and the letter in the middle). That should give you the codes I posted above. There are a lot of useless or even fake decoders on the net, and there are a lot of Blaupunkt decoders not designed for Citroen models.

There are three different algorithms for Citroen model Blaupunkts, and many others for other models. The only way to tell which Citroen one gives the right code is to try them. Better if you don't try a whole lot of wrong codes first and get the thing locking, of course.

READ BEFORE POSTING

General info on getting radio codes-

Citroen don't make radios, they just put their brand on radios made by others. Don't bother posting the model of your car. No one can figure out what your radio code is from that. Radios are coded individually. Codes only work for the one radio, not for all the radios of that make or model. To find out the code you need the serial number. Not the model number or the part number. As there are several numbers on a radio, you should probably post them all to make sure the right one is included.

You will need to remove the radio from the dash to get the serial number, and probably to find out what make and model it is. Instructions for removing your radio, by model of car, can be had for free here:

http://www.fitaudio.com/

Blaupunkt radio codes can usually be derived from the serial number by software, but NOT radios made by Grundig, Clarion, or Philips. These have to be looked up by someone that has access to the database. It is better to get your Citroen dealer to look up the code than go to the online decoding sites. Some dealers charge for this service, maybe as much as an online decoding company, but your chance of come-back is better if it doesn't work. Blaupunkt serial numbers begin with BP. Clarions usually begin with CL. Grundigs begin with GR. Phillips begin with PH. If you don't have a BP number, you will not get a code here.

Repeat- Codes can be calculated for Blaupunkt radios with serial numbers starting with "BP". Other makes with "CL", "GR", "PH" and so on, no, sorry.

If you have read any of the previous messages , especially the regular message above posted by Morganwg , then you would have realised that your radio is a CLARION and this board deals mainly with the BLAUPUNKT make fitted into a Citroen.

The only CLARION code that can be calculated for free anywhere on the Internet is if you have a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with C70000000 ----

Otherwise it`s a visit to the Main Dealer or Decode Specialist.(or local Car Radio Shop)

Thanks for getting back to me.

I will tell my friend to write down this serial barcode number.

If i give you this info can you then decode it?

The display on his car radio looks like the following '----'. Does this mean its locked up permanently?

Dave-

That "----" display on a Baupunkt means that it is temporarily locked, and you need to leave it turned on for an hour to clear it. But you haven't got a Blaupunkt. You have a Clarion. We almost certainly can't help you get a code for that here. Only the serial numbers beginning C70000- can be decoded by software, and few Clarions have that (and I have never had any success with those).

Hi, I have a Citroen Xsara with a Philips radio model 22 RC 465/35
There are loads of numbers on the label attached to the radio, but I think this one is the serial number - PHC9009405.
The other numbers are - 96 247 225 80 & FD 01 97 35 9009405.

Can anyone please provide a code to get the radio working again?

Thanks
Gill

Hello all. I have a Citroen ZX (95 N) with a blocked or locked radio. I know the code - my problem is that it will not allow me to input it, or anything else. When I turn the radio on the display simply reads " --- ", and will not change, regardless of what I press. I've tried removing & replacing fuses, and disconnecting the battery altogether, all to no avail. I fear it may have become permanently locked. Does anyone have any ideas of what I might do to bring music (and Radio 4) back into my life?

Many thanks in anticipation!

Depending on the make and model of the radio, which you have not told us, that display can mean the radio is partially locked, due to too many attempts to guess the code. On some models you can get the display to clear to "CODE" or "cod" and accept another try at entering the code by leaving the radio on for a hour or more without touching any buttons.

This information has been posted many times on this forum. It is generally a good idea, and a basic courtesy, to read a forum before you make your first post.
