You really should read the previous messages on this forum BEFORE posting your request.

If you had read any of the previous messages , especially the regular message posted by Morganwg , then you would have realised that your radio is a CLARION and this board deals mainly with the BLAUPUNKT make fitted into a Citroen.

The only CLARION code that can be calculated for free anywhere on the Internet is if you have a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with C70000000 ----

Otherwise it`s a visit to the Main Dealer or Decode Specialist.(or local Car Radio Shop)

If you had then

READ BEFORE POSTING

General info on radio codes-

Citroen don't make radios, they just put their brand on radios made by others. Don't bother posting the model of your car. No one can figure out what your radio code is from that. Radios are coded individually. Codes only work for the one radio, not for all the radios of that make or model. To find out the code you need the serial number. Not the model number or the part number. As there are several numbers on a radio, you should probably post them all to make sure the right one is included.

You will need to remove the radio from the dash to get the serial number, and probably to find out what make and model it is. Instructions for removing your radio, by model of car, can be had for free here:

http://www.fitaudio.com/

Blaupunkt radio codes can usually be derived from the serial number by software, but NOT radios made by Grundig, Clarion, or Philips. These have to be looked up by someone that has access to the database. It is better to get your Citroen dealer to look up the code than go to the online decoding sites. Some dealers charge for this service, maybe as much as an online decoding company, but your chance of come-back is better if it doesn't work. Blaupunkt serial numbers begin with BP. Clarions usually begin with CL. Grundigs begin with GR. Phillips begin with PH. If you don't have a BP number, you will not get a code here.

Some visitors have reported that Phillips codes can be got at:

http://www.tinyurl.com/222codes

Repeat- Codes can be calculated for Blaupunkt radios with serial numbers starting with "BP". Other makes with "CL", "GR", "PH" and so on, no, sorry.

Blaupunkt PH1/C 96 133 457 80
BP277559452896

I know how to unlock the unit, and enter the code if this will help anyone, all I need is the code. Thanks in advance all!

Hi Les,
My dad just bought an N reg Xantia, but did not get the code for the radio with it. I have found out from other forums how to enter the code, and wait for the unit to reset, but am stumped when it comes to the code! You seem to be my best hope of resolving this problem!
I'll give you all the details off the stereo, and any help u can give will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mike.
Stereo ia blaupunkt PH1/C, numbers present are:
Blaupunkt PH1/C 96 133 457 80
BP277559452896
Citroen PH1 (C) CE 1995 7 642 775 394
Once again, many thanks. Mike.

Assuming you got the number wrong by turning an S into a 5, then for that serial number I get codes 0184 or 0122. If you made some other mistake, then I don't know. The number is not right as it stands.

Who is Les?

Dear All,

I have a Balupunkt radio in my Xantia. After a battery change the radio asks for the code. I've thought that I know the right code but I was wrong. Now on the display I can see "----" and if push the BND button for a while it changes to "====". I was trying to live the radio on for about 4 hours but nothing happend.
What is your experience? Is there any other "home-made trick" I can try or I must bring it to a service?

Thanks a lot

Pityu-

This really depends on the model of the radio. Some of them will clear from this locked state if left turned on for an hour or more. You have to leave the ignition on too, at least enough to power the radio (switching the radio on without power doesn't do anything). You mustn't touch any buttons during this period. It is possible to permanently lock some radios by entering the wrong code too many times, but that is maybe 20 or 30 times.

Possibly you have used the wrong key sequence to enter the code. This also varies by model of radio.

Thanks Morganwg,
Yes, I forgot to write the type of the radio. It's in a '99 Xantia without CD changer. Previously I was use the code couple of times, mainly when the car returned from service and everything was ok. This time I entered the (right) code as usual but nothing happend.
Yesterday I left the radio and the ignition are on about 4 hours until the battery went flat :( but still four dashes on the screen. I'm sure that I didn't enter wrong thing 20 times.

The model of the car is not the model of the radio. I don't have any idea what the problem is. Perhaps you need to disconnect the battery again, once it is charged, and start over.
