Hi. i am trying to obtain a code to unlock a 'W' reg Citroen Saxo cd/radio player. I have bought a decoding cd, but the cd/radio model is not on it.

The model is a Clarion PU2294B
Serial No is CL0402Y0115566

Any help would be gratefuly appreciated.

Thanks,

Humph-

Grundig, Clarion, and Philips radio codes generally cannot be derived from serial numbers; they have to be looked up by someone that has access to the database. It is better to get a code from your Citroen dealer than go to the online places. Some dealers charge for this service, maybe as much as an online decoding company, but your chance of come-back is better if it doesn't work.

The sequence to enter a code depends on the model of the radio, and it isn't "Xantia".

Anybody got any ideas as to how I reprogramme the code on my radio from a xsara, it's a philips (Citroen branded):
Model no: 22 RC 465/35S
Prod no:FD 0298238008941

I was going to use a website service for a note of the code (I'm aware of previous posts so I know it needs to be gleaned from Citroen's databases) but there are asking for a 14 digit code and I can't find any 14 digit code, so I thought, what the hell, I'll reprogramme it, now if someone could tell me how............?
(really don't want to go to the dealer, bit if needs must.........)

The dealer is your BEST option.

Online service goes like this-

input your number to service web page
service says they have the code, pay them money
you pay
service gives you the code
it doesn't work
you complain
service says, no problem just send the radio in for reprogramming and
they will allow you your initial payment against the reprogramming fee
special delivery post both ways costs way more than initial fee, so you
don't send it
OR you do send it and it costs more than going to the Citroen dealer

Morganwg:

Many thanks for the info....looks like I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and get down to the local dealer then...this is so going against all my principles! ;-)

I wouldn't mind paying £10-15 to the dealer if it was a CD player, but with it just having a cassette it feels like throwing money away, maybe I should just see what going cheap in Halfords and get a new one!!!

Thanks again for the advice :-)

I have a Citroen Xantia 96 1.9td, with Citroen radio already in. I accidently put in the wrong code and it locked itself. I took it to my mate who held the "band" button for a few seconds, it then flashed and let me put in the right code. Not sure if this helps anyone but hope so.

Shows how useful codes are for preventing theft.

Don't try to guess the code, you can lock the radio permanently. If it is a Blaupunkt, the code can be derived from the serial numner by software. other radios are harder to get the code for. If it is the original equipment, your Citroen dealer can look it up.
